It will be the best 4 wide in the NFL
It will be the best 4 wide in the NFL
makes for a hell of a madden roster...not sure how many 4 wide we will run in real life
Our depth at wr last year took a hit when both Mike and Godwin were hurt. I think they were still solid but I think we want that position to be at its best because it's so important for our success. We have a high powered offense partly because we have such good talent there. If we want to make sure the offense doesn't skip a beat if someone goes down. Have someone else there just as capable.
I think if we didn't have those injuries offense is so much better down the line in the season with the continuity and consistency they have. If they can stay healthy even better because then they make sure their fresh and can create a ton of mismatches as a result of that. Wearing defenses down with that and bucky. Just go defense heavy the rest of the way.
i mean, take that example at any position that your top 2 go down and tell me how it wont hurt the team significantly. Top 2 QBs? Top 2 RBs? Maybe we survive with Tucker. Top two OTs?
Top 2 CBs?
see my point. If anything, the Bucs had some talent at least at WR with McMillian. But not many teams will survive their top 2 WRs going down and being successful - i.e. when the Eagles played us without AJ Brown and D Smith last season.
Couldn't it be (with credit to JBF) that:
1. Evans wants to retire next year
2. Godwins recovery is going slower than expected
3. they dont have faith in McMillan (eg talented, but not professional)
#3 was already suggested last season, its just that he then scored a few TDs
#4 is just BPA pick
i'd be shocked if Evans wanted to retire next year. For a guy that values legacy and records, why would he call it quits after potentially beating Rice's record and in particular if hes still playing at a high level like he is
Licht hinted towards item 2 but that's more just an added bonus.
as far as #3, if they dont have faith in McMillan, his trade value will never be higher given how he came on late last year because he is presumed to be #4 on depth chart and will not get that many looks. His numbers and targets will likely go down
as far as #4, i guess so in their minds.
im warming up to the pick
Better to draft an Evans/Godwin replacement a year or two early than after they are gone. I like JMac but I think he's a #2 or #3 option. Dont mind the pick at all.
