thought Jonah Ellis should have been the pick.
I liked Elliss for the pick too.
either of you able to back that up with an actual post?
Theres multiple posts during draft time of both them liking him.
I did too, and mentioned wanting to draft him in my PFF Mock, but he was snagged right before my pick.

I am sure many people liked him, but JC5100 says he "thought Jonah Ellis should have been the pick" and Biggs says he "liked Ellis for the pick too." I am just wondering if that thought exist in a post, ideally BEFORE the draft?
Before the draft, most are focused on Kneeland, I thought.
Anyway, during the draft you actually critique the Braswell pick, in real time, by naming Ellis as one alternative, so kudos. Biggs even "likes" that post.

Just dont see or recall either calling for the Bucs to draft him before the draft or even lamenting that he was not picked by the Bucs in a post-draft thread . . .well, until he starts dominating for the Broncos :-)

Other players are mentioned and JC5100 signals his displeasure with the Braswell pick.
Not defending the Braswell pick, just asking if Biggs/JC5100 expressed before the draft that Ellis should be the pick? Or, even after for that matter?

As you can see I had Ellis as my #2 Edge, with Braswell 9th. Even proposed trading up to the early 3rd to get Ellis (he was the 12th pick in 3rd round). I also had a 1st round grade on Kneeland but not as an edge, instead as interior guy like how Bowles uses Gholston, Kancey and Suh previously. Kneeland went 1 pick ahead of us. Based on how Day 2 played out I would have came away with both Kneeland and Ellis.
At this point, there really is no reason to prove anything to the board dork. It’s not written in stone that Elliss will be a better pro than Braswell. Neither player has played a real down in the NFL. Braswell may very well outplay Elliss in the NFL. We preferred Elliss (among others) over Braswell as prospects. There is no revisionist history, as they both still prospects. Screw the dork that can only post coachspeak and the like because he lacks the football acumen to analyze the game. Instead, we are lucky enough to get hard-hitting, insightful analysis like this:
I think that game may tell us a good bit about the Bucs
Take your seat at the kiddie table.
I think Braswell is just a better fit for Bowles defense. Hes a very linear player and knows how to set an edge, one of the knocks on elliss was his ability to an edge in the run. Bowles main focus is to stop the run, not saying elliss isnt gonna be good but schematically braswell is more like diaby. And im expecting a double digit seasoon from Diaby. If hes been deemed "unblockable" against wirfs and goedeke means hes doing pretty good. Thing about our team too is that we like to wear you down we are built with size, we love those 6'5 ends long arms thick bodies

actually why I asked the other two guys.
I agree that this would be the explanation, whether its right or wrong. And that Ellis is more what the board sees as a DE. Again, not saying Braswell over Ellis is the RIGHT approach, but it make sense if you think about Bowles.
I wish we had an individual production, speeding rushing, bending DE. Especially because we already have Diaby and now he is a power guy with a bad wheel.

It’s certainly possible Braswell is a better fit. The push back would be that Vance Joseph runs a very similar defense in Denver to Bowles and Elliss has been pretty good so far in the same roll that Braswell has been in, while Braswell has struggled to make any impact. Very small sample size, but that’s all we have to go on right now.
Braswell finally got a nice pre-season notch in his belt (not bad on the one just prior to the sack, either)…
Braswell finishes plays so I am not worried about him as a pro. JTS should take notes.
Well possibly they could have had an edge rusher over in the draft this year. If they flop this year, need one for sure in 2025.
I’ll throw in my pre-draft comments.
“If you don’t get Jared Verse in the back half of the first round, then make sure you pick up a quality FA. Edge is a position you draft high. If you are drafting a second or third rounder, you’re pretty much getting them for depth and growth.”
