thought Jonah Ellis should have been the pick.

I liked Elliss for the pick too.

either of you able to back that up with an actual post?

Theres multiple posts during draft time of both them liking him.

I did too, and mentioned wanting to draft him in my PFF Mock, but he was snagged right before my pick.

Now that the season is over and they aren't prospects any longer, let's take a look at how they fared:

Chris Braswell - Round 2, pick 57: 1.5 sacks, 0 PD, 1 FF, 11 solo tackles, 7 assists, & 1 TFL

Jonah Elliss   -   Round 3, pick 76: 5 sacks, 2 PD, 0 FF, 24 solo tackles, 14 assists, & 7 TFL

After year one, Elliss has proven to be the better player. The organization has to hit on an Edge rusher at some point.

Yup and honestly Braswell is too similar with his game to Diaby so Elliss would have brought a different dimension.  But yeah Braswell did play better down the stretch but it made no sense to draft a project player so high.

I'm very low on Braswell but are their snaps comparable?

Elliss played about 6 more snaps a game, with much better Edge players on his team in Cooper & Bonitto.

Braswell not playing more snaps as a second rounder with lesser Edge players in front of him is an indictment of his poor play. If he was better, he would have played more. But he wasn’t.

Not surprising... Hated the pick at the time and still hate it.

Luckily the rest of the draft was pretty damn good (Barton, Bucky, Smith)

PFF had Barton ranked as the 45th best center in the league and we ran for 277 yards in the game he missed. He should not be in the hit column right now.

Pff is nice to reference but I rarely agree with them and I strongly disagree with this take.

He might by in the 20-30 range which is fine for a rookie.

And I've been hard on him mostly because of his snaps and preferred JPJ...

But 45th? Cmon

Barton definitely outplayed Seattle's Olu Oluwatimi for example and many other young centers so that ranking of 45th best is very dubious to say the least.  Seattle's running game looked like the 2023-2024 Bucs which is a big reason why they missed out on the playoffs and not winning their division as the Rams edged them out.

There's just no way there's 12 backup centers better than him. Give me a fucking break

Bucs OLB dropped too much into coverage so it is hard to say what is really going on with the OLB room to be honest.
