I wouldn’t give him more than 24 for 3 years
i mean that seems fair but with inflation, i see it at $25M for 3 years
Hill is at 30M
Adams is at 28M
Kupp is at 26.7M
AJ Brown is at 25M
Diggs, Samuel, and Metcalf at 24M
Godwin at 20M
we wont know until Evans is ultimately signed but i'd have to think he'd take 25M a year or even 24M a year if we were offering him that. For some odd feeling, i think we are low balling him at like 20 or 21M and that is why he will likely test the market.
He leaves , go get Tee Higgins and draft Mcconkey
the other school of thought is maybe Evans is looking for one last big pay day. Cant fault the guy, he is only human.
Guys like Tee Higgins and Michael Pittman JR would be highly sought after but are likely candidates for franchise tag or resigning to a long term contract extension.
after them, you have Marquise Brown, Calvin Ridley, Darnell Money, Gabe Davis, and Odell Beckham. These guys are not in the same stratosphere as Evans
you have some teams that could use Evans with alot of cap space, all over 40M to start the league year - Commanders, Titans, Bears, Patriots, Colts, Texans, and Cardinals.
i mean could Houston throw 30M a year at Evans to bring him back home, pear him with Nico Collins and set up Stroud rather nicely? Wouldn't surprise me and would be unfortunate.

he leaves, would be devastating to the Bucs organization from both a competitive and business perspective.
1 - he is playing at a high level
2 - He is on the mount Rushmore of All time Buc greats.
3 - look at the fans in the stands...overwhelming wearing #13 jerseys
4 - he was a big reason to the success of Baker Mayfield turn around year
if we let Mike Evans walk, wtf are we even doing as a franchise. I for one, would have trouble taking this team seriously and would take the wind out of my sails.
It would be a blow, but he would still be a fan favorite and a ROH player. John Lynch went elsewhere, albeit not by his choice, but he's still one of the all time fan favorites. So it would be tough to stomach as far as getting fired up for next season, but it won't damage Evans' image as one of the all time great Bucs.He leaves , go get Tee Higgins and draft Mcconkey

You don’t give him whatever he wants , just for the fans sake , it’s a business

agreed. I’d be referring more to the incompetence of our front office

and so the highest you’d go is $24M?
what if he gets $26M from the Texans. Would you match?
No
I think Godwin walks next year
Which makes Evans signing all more important.
hell if you only get to keep one, not sure how you don’t pick Evans there
eventually he will fall off , wrong side of 30
The amount of money the Bucs have to spend on players is limited. The Bucs need to evaluate which players meet both the immediate and long term needs of the Bucs. There are same hard decisions to make.
Eventually, sure. He’s still playing WR1 and he’s more than a possession receiver - dude gets open - and he reeled in more than just 10 yard carries - he was clutch on 30 + balls - and he turns 50/50 balls into 80/20 balls.eventually he will fall off , wrong side of 30
You kinda have to ride the lightning. I think he knows that.
