I think Walker is a solid guy with great leadership skills but he isn't great at either position he's being drafted for.Ā He get's swallowed up by college players on the line.Ā I think he's 5'10".Ā Very small for what they want to use him for.Ā
Pearce is undersized, doesn't love football, and isn't going to have immediate impact.Ā Why in God's name would you give up such a haul to an NFC rival fore this cat.Ā Really dumb moves.Ā Ā Thank God.Ā
This post has all but assured that both of these players will be Pro Bowlers.
The Falcon strategy is clearly to put a lot of resources into a select few players. We will see if that pays off.Ā Because for some reason they feel they have a team that can compete for a playoff spot because they are a few players away.

Walker is too short.Ā Pearce is too small.Ā It's so very Falcon to draft on a hope.Ā THe Bucs draft on what we know to be true.Ā Ā

Yes it is a difference in philosophy but I do wonder what their front seven is going to look like without Grady Jarrett.Ā They seem to be going light in the pants in their front seven when the Panthers, Bucs and Saints have some beefy OLs.
Ā
Ā
The Falcons are objectively worse today than when the season ended.Ā Why in God's name did they do that deal to get Pearce.Ā He's just not very good.Ā For EZ sure, but for Pearce???Ā McKay, Demitriof, Fontenot, they are all getting fired...

Was thinking the same exact thing.Ā

Love Hot'lanta's picks, i hope they finish up this draft picking that way; the NFC south needs someone to make 4th place in the division their home... keep up the great job Rah RahĀ
I love how they went aggressive after pass rush, but Iām a lot happier than if they finished Rd 1 with Green and EZ
Typical of the Falcons to draft on hope.Ā It's really something to see a team who just never understands the assignment.Ā
The Falcons have ownership that believes they are only a few pieces away from a SB which undermines them from understanding you need to build a solid team first as the assignment.
The Panthers and Saints are further along and probably closed the gap with the Falcons this off season. Saints aggressively upgraded their OL, still managed to draft young defenders for the future.Ā Panthers added another big bodied weapon on the perimeter while aggressively upgrading their defense for Evero.Ā

IMO, the Panthers had a sneaky good draft, and the Saints are just further cementing themselves as the cellar dweller.

Saints drafted the 8th best QB in the 2nd round thoĀ
