In getting over the needless loss of Thursday, I've arrived here. Looking back to better moments, I was thinking about all time favorite plays that are somewhat forgotten-- as well as favorite players who weren't stars but contributed greatly. Mine are below. Anyone care to comment on theirs? (Apologies if this type of post has been done often.)
Favorite play: In 1994 (the Bucs 19th season) Vernon Turner had the first punt return for a touchdown in team history. It was the first kick return of any kind for a TD and it came against the Lions, Turner's former team who let him go. He wasn't happy about that. One of the best things about this play is that he starts high stepping-- at the beginning of the return! Showboating, but it was classic. (It's on youtube.) Man, I miss those days in the Big Sombrero...and I don't care what anybody says, those are great uniforms.
Favorite role players: Karl "The Truth" Williams, Morris Owens (In 1977 the Bucs had only three passing TDs the entire year. Three! Owens caught all of them. He has to be the only receiver in NFL history who can claim that.)
