Since 2007, Football Outsiders (FBO) has been tracking dropped INTs to give a fuller depth on a QB's propensity to giveaway turnovers via INTs. FBO's 2019 adjusted INT had one QB break a threshold never broken before.

2019 Attempts and INT

    1. Winston = 624 pass att and 30 INTs
    12. Brady = 612 pass att and 8 INTs

2019 Dropped INTs (DI), Tipped INTs (TI), and Tip & dropped INTs (TID)

DI = adds to the INT adj total
TI = removes from the INT adj total
TID = removes from the INT adj total

    ..
    1. Winston: DI = 13, TI = 2, TID = 1; Dropped Adj INT result = + 10
    12. Brady: DI = 7, TI= 0, TID = 1; Dropped Adj INT result = + 6

2019 Adj INT

    1. Winston = 40 adj INT (Raw + Dropped Adj INT = 30 + 10)
    12. Brady = 14 adj INT (Raw + Dropped Adj INT = 8 + 6)

== Here's a couple of excerpts from the FBO article ==:
Record:

We have adjusted interception numbers dating back to 2007, and Winston is the first player since then to hit 40 adjusted interceptions in a season.

Yikes! That's how terrible Winston was last year.

Excuse:

In Winston's defense, he threw a lot of passes into the hands of defenders in part because he threw a lot of passes period, a league-high 624.

Although Winston threw 624 passes, Brady threw 612 passes. That's only 12 passes in difference, but Winston had an INT rate of 4.8% and Brady had an INT rate of 1.3%. I do not buy this excuse for Winston as he had 26 Adj INTs more than Brady with only 12 more passes thrown. And this was Winston's fifth year in the league!

Note: Feel free to check out the FBO article. You'd be surprised to see who did have the second most dropped INTs! Give FBO some love since they poured in all that intimacy into video researching work.
