1. I live 10 mins from downtown Louisville. No way, no shape, no how should we take Rankins @ 9 given the depth of talent at the DT spot. He is a nice player but I cannot justify him at 9. Its just simply too premium of a pick to me. At 9 you either stay put and hope you get Stanely or you move up to try and snag a guy slipping like Bosa or possibly Buckner. No other options at 9 you try and get the hell out of that spot to fall back and take Floyd in the teens or you take Floyd at 9 (more on that in a moment).2. Leonard Floyd. I know a lot of people have varying opinions and one comparison who I really see a ton of similarities to and IMO more than really anyone and I'm yet to see mentioned is Jamie Collins (LB/DE NE). They are about mirror images of one another. Yes, I understand so is Jordan and Mingo from a HWS perspective but Floyd is a carbon copy and Jamie Collins is a swiss army knife for NE. Possibly their most valuable defender... I really think if you could get a 1-1 with any rusher in the draft, he would certainly be in the top 2 or 3 (Bosa, Floyd and Spence). He's shown he can turn and run with TE's, has great length and can play a hybrid LB/DE role and lets face it, the NFL is a nickel defense league. He's someone I would REALLY consider at 9 if you cannot get Stanley or Bosa. When you watch his tape he explodes. Look at Jamie Collins profile from his scouting combine. Who does that remind you of other than Jordan or Mingo? Jordan and Mingo were DE's essentially in college. Floyd is a natural pass rusher and he showed WAY more versatility than either of the aforementioned players. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/jamie-collins?id=2539311 3.We need to dump Glennon, period point blank. Even for a 3rd but I think we can get a 2. Another player who I would LOVE to see in a buc uni is Robert Nkemdiche. If he slides past 20 I'd move and try and get him. I know the off the field issues and all that but I think between McCoy and Winston he can be straightened out. He's a top 5 talent in this draft and if motivated and guided he could be force for the next 10 years type impact player. Imagine Floyd, Nkemdiche and McCoy. How is that for a retooled sub package DL? I'm off my soap box but a few things I wanted to throw out there to see what people think.
