I believe the main reason we lost yesterday was because of our play in the trenches. Our o-line didn't give Winston good protection and opened minimal lanes for Doug to run through. On the other side, our d-line did good at clogging up the run, but got absolutely no pressure when just rushing 4. This was disappointing as the Colts have a bad o-line already that was a little banged up with injuries. When you get beat on both sides of the trenches, it's gonna be tough to win games.Hopefully getting Ali back will help the o-line as I do remember seeing some terrible plays by EDS. They've still exceeded my expectations for this year, so I'm not too upset with that unit. For the d-line, we just need some more talent on the Edge. There's no doubt in my mind that pass rushing DE is the #1 need for this off-season and we should spend our 1st rounder on one, in addition to bringing someone in from FA.Coaching played a factor in the loss too. I think Lovie's plan was that the front 4 would be able to get enough pressure against a banged up and makeshift o-line and felt comfortable playing the classic Tampa 2 most of the game. With that being said, Lovie should have realized that the d-line was not getting the job done and needed blitzes in order to get any type of pressure. Lovie failed to adjust and that is on him.Koetter had some questionable playcalls and I have no idea why he only gave Doug 3 touches after his big run. I don't recall running any screens yesterday either when the Colts were constantly pressuring Winston. You need to do something to off-set the pressure when it was as consistent as it was yesterday. More short passes would have been nice too.The refs... I don't even want to get started with them. We all know they were awful and had some calls that completely changed the game. I'll just leave it at that.
