Don't just blame Mayfield, what is the scheme that has Canales puzzled?
Both very heavy on zone and showing man looks pre-snap, that is an easy thing that stands out a bit.

Bakers playing bad, and the key to beating us is being physical in the trenches stopping the run. Baker misses on too many throws that are critical to hit, and guys like palmer who miss catches liek the 2nd and 8 or somehting at the 20. Its an execution thing not talented enough not enough focus they need to get better they need to work harder in the offseason to get better

I thought (definitely could be wrong) that a couple times we went to Palmer he had their top CB? May be wrong, but if that was the case what were they doing with Evans and Godwin?
we definitely struggle to to break down zone D. Palmer would be key there. Otton too.

I would love to hear the posters saying "this game is on Canales" watch the A22 that's now out, and tell us how the first 2 drives aren't 100% on Baker.
Should've been 10-14 points on those 2 drives alone.
The key to beating our offense, is to only leave the deep outside or intermediate inside routes open. That way Baker will do one of three things: 1) throw the ball over their heads - or under their knees; 2) dance like a chicken with herpes and take a sack; or 3) he'll throw it to the most well covered guy, by the opposing defense's best corner, presenting an interception opportunity. That's what the film shows you need to do.

I don’t think anyone is saying Mayfield played well against the Panthers.
I have said that Canales has struggled now in two games to overcome an adjusted defense and not just because of the play of Mayfield. I am a Canales fan. A big one.
