I'm struggling with drafting a safety. I go back and forth and I think ultimately it's a luxury pick

By luxury pick do you mean, "we're in good shape so pick whatever?" As opposed to going with a much more conventional pick like a DT or something?
@firebowles2023 - I agree. You see outstanding safeties all over the league that were drafted 4th, 5th, 6th rounds. Even undrafted.
At 19 this year, there is the possibility that we could get a guy that you would normally have to be picking in the top 10 to get. And it’s rare to be able to get a truly talented and productive edge that late.
I think Mike Green and hitting on a Day 2 DB puts the roster in position to win it. I'm more concerned about Green's lack of production prior to this year more than accusations without charges.
No way Green falls to us, not even sure he fits the character qualification.I think Mike Green and hitting on a Day 2 DB puts the roster in position to win it. I'm more concerned about Green's lack of production prior to this year more than accusations without charges.

I mean taking a safety early vs later... We have a safety. Another good would be nice but we have no edge, no LB, no CB1, and zero depth in the trenches.
Safety can wait imo unless you're getting a perennial all-pro. (The same thing I said about taking White early instead of of Allen).
Makes sense

Would really like to see us walk away with Schwesinger or Paul Jr.
