Additional: Wouldnt be shocked if the Falcons trade back and target Ebron. Their GM is a wild card who likes to ignore needs.
Dimitroff said his draft will be "system specific" and "needs-based." Instead of drafting the highest-rated player on the board, regardless of position, Dimitroff said he will look for the best players who can fill needs in the Falcons' system. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/news/story?id=3357381
I just can't fathom any situation or scenario where the Texans, Browns, Raiders, and Jags all pass on a QB.
Yeah, they can't all play musical chairs hoping to get their guy in round 2. I think one problem of doing a universal board is that the writers/draft pundits fall into a trap of thinking that the QBs are interchangeable - if the "best" is taken, you just take the next one. The reality is some of these teams may have a first round grade on only 1 of these guys, and hate the rest until the 4th round.
I just think back to all the avaerge QB prospects taken in the first round over the last decade, and I can't see Bortles, Bridgewater, or Manziel slipping.
A pleasant surprise would be taking Donald the DT

Elementary my dear Watson!!!
I don't see how us taking a QB would be a surprise. Especially with the way Carr seems to slowly start rising.
If one of the top 3 QB's fall to us , fine. For god's sake do not reach for Carr !!
Would be shocked if Bears take a WR with their first pick. That defense is awful and old.
If Lovie and Co. feel we need a new QB (big if) that is only half the equation. The other half is liking the prospect available to you. Taking a QB just to take a QB is how you spend a 1st on Brandon Weeden. If they think prospect B out of A, B, and C is the next big thing and that A and C both suck then taking B is a no brainer. However, if B is gone and only A and C are left then it is stupid to spend the pick on one of them just to say you did it. I still think our first pick will be on the oline. Matthews and Robinson 1A and 1B.

They HAVE to do something about the DE position, its a glaring need. Whether its addressed in the draft, or free agency, it has to be upgraded.

I don't think it's necessarily a "need" at all. AC is better than he looked this year IMO, and Gholston should develop as well. Mix in Geraldini getting used properly for the first time in his career, and we should already have a much improved pass rush.
My Surprise pick for the Bucs in May would be CJ Mosley and here is why. When Lovie was with Chicago he had Urlacher in the Middle and Briggs on the outside. The Bucs have the Briggs type player on the roster in Lavonte David. They do not have and Urlacher in Mason Foster. Draft CJ Mosley and kick Foster out to Strongside LB. Doing this would solidify the LB for years. I truly think the Bucs are going to address the DE position throughout free agency. That leaves MLB, WR and QB as draft day #1 options.
Let's see, a new staff taking over a 4-12 team that had the worst passing attack in the league and one of the worst overall offenses of the last 5 seasons.Taking a QB is really going to shock anyone but the most delusional Glennon fans who think he's already elite?I'm fairly sure that even the majority of his supporters can see why there is a fairly large chance we try & grab a QB, they might not like it but it's a realistic option.

Very well stated. Glennon needs competition. Whether that comes from a Free Agent QB like McCown, Flynn or Henne. Or via Trade- Kirk Cousins or Ryan Mallet. Or via the draft- Carr, Garoppolo, Murray or Mettenberger. The Bucs made the mistake of anointing Freeman the franchise QB before he had earned that designation. Let's hope they don't make the same mistake again.
