For now Koetter and staff has to go into battle with what they have. But in 2018 the Bucs have to make an effort to upgrade their lines.
I like the young talent assembled on the oline, but the Bucs o-line is missing a blue chipper to solidify it. Maybe Marpet by the end of the year becomes that blue chip player.
Defensively, McCoy is a blue chip cornerstone player but most NFL teams put a premium to obtain a bluechip edgerusher. Bucs must find a way to land a blue chip edge rusher. Stop with the excuses.
Spence may develop into a bluechip edge rusher, but for now my gut feeling says the Bucs will be looking for a bluechip DE in 2018.
Summary of needs:
1. Bluechip edge rusher to team with Spence
2. Bluechip Ol which may be preferable at OT to eventually replace Dotson when he retires of D. Smith so D. Smith can be kicked inside.
3. A young DT to groom
4. Backup OL to groom assuming the Bucs do not re-sign E. Smith. For sure a need if the Bucs can not hold onto Pamphile in the future.
