The Ravens are paying him out the wazoo.  Pretend for a second he is cut and becomes a FA.  Do you want him?  How much do you bid?  What about if he's available for trade?  Do you trade a first?  Nothing?Just curious.

Yeah I'd take him, people act like that defense carried him and the offense all the time but that simply isn't the case.If it were how do you explain the fact that from the year Flacco was drafted they made the playoffs 5 straight years, made 3 AFC title games, won a Super Bowl and last year went .500Compare that to the entire 12 year Raven history before he got there (when that defense was in it's prime) they made the playoffs just 4 times, going 1 & done 3 times, won a Super Bowl in the other and had a losing record in half the seasons?Ravens win percentage pre Flacco was .502, that goes up to .646 for the 6 years he's been there. It's the difference between an8-8 team and a 10-6 one, one team is average and gets a lucky playoff trip every 2 or  years, the other in a solid position to make it every year.People so misunderstand the whole "QB is important" idea and act like it means the QB must have Brees/Manning/Rodgers like numbers which isn't the case, it means you needs one because they give you the shot where if you don't have one you are basically done before game 1 of the season kicks off.In terms of what I'd give up or him, that totally depends on the situation at the time, other options, what they are available for, etc. Pretty much the same type of things that need weighing up when looking at any player.

Not for me. I realize every player has to get 'his' (aside from tom brady and Jason Kielce) but flaco singlehandedly sent his best WR packing.  Nah, not for me.

It all worked out when Flacco was playing under his rookie contract  but now that he has been getting paid elite QB money (and he is not an elite QB) they will no longer be able to afford the strong supporting cast around him and he will not be able to carry that team on his back.

He could be in for a restructure somewhere along the line.Ozzie is the best GM in the league IMO.  They will work it out.

But isn't that somewhat the same with virtually all the top QBs and recent Super Bowl winners?Brady hasn't won a Super Bowl since he's had the huge contracts.Brees was on a prove it deal when the Saints won theirs.Rodgers hadn't signed his mega deal when the Pack won.Ben was in the cheap year of his deal when the Steelers last won it all.The Mannings might be the only high paid QBs to win the Super Bowl recently, it's like you need to find a QB that can come in and win it all quickly while they are cheap because once they are paid the rest of the roster takes a massive hit, you may contend but your real odds are actually fairly low. This is one reason I hate the idea of waiting to see what we have in Glennon, he could either suck or take so long to develop that by the time he's ready we can't afford to put a team around him.

Just think of the position the Bucs would be in right now if they would have locked up Freeman to a mega long-term deal before the start of last season like a lot of people were clamoring for (including PR). It would have set the Franchise back another decade.

Locking up Freeman like that would have been the stuff of nightmares, he's also another huge reason I'm not sold on Glennon oing forward, all we hear is how great Mikes stats were for a rookie and he will only get better, Josh broke (worthless) franchise records with that same coaching staff and that was a huge reason many of his backers gave for locking him up, less than a year later he was putting up historically bad numbers.

You do realize a very shitty version of Tom Brady would be the best QB in Bucs history right?

Flacco is still light years better than Glennon at this point and probably at any point.  guy has won a Super Bowl, taken his team to 3 AFCC games, won a bunch of playoff games.  Meanwhile we haven't won a playoff game in 12 years, haven't even been to the playoffs in 6 years ,  and are looking at going into the season with a QB who is ranked toward the bottom of the starters in the league and quite frankly have no chance of contending once again.  You guys deserve your mediocracy for accepting it.

I'm still on the fence with Glennon, but I can see him being better than Flacco down the road.  Of course, I can also see him worse, so...
