He has the potential to be a Top 15 QB.
Does he? I'm not sure
that's accurate
I think it is way too early to determine how good or bad Glennon will be.He has shown flashes of potential and at the same time made some goddamn awful mistakes at the same time. If nothing else that article demonstrates that a QB's rookie season may or may not be indicative of his career path.
Let's throw away another third down....
Benchwarmer#1: "Freeman goes 27th in any statistical category and it's fire the bum.Glennon does it, ...and excuses are made."Too dumb to tell the difference between a rookie and a fifth year veteran
these numbers tell us nothing about what route these guys careers will take.
That's exactly what several people have been saying all year in response to those who tout Glennon's "record breaking" rookie numbers.
and vice versa
Good question, but I would have to say no.Schiano's system protected him from the real qb world. If he has to go out there to win games in another guy's more complex/demanding system, he will be worse than average.
I suppose you realize there is at least the possibility you have it exactly backwards, right? In other words, Schiano's "system" could have just as easily held him back and it seems that a complex system would not be as much an issue, right? He is supposed very bright?Who knows who is right on this one, its just too soon to say with any certainty . . although that doesn't stop many lol
I don't get the Glennon hate... Doesn't make any logical sense given the situation.Meh - to each his own.

You act like all fifth year vets, play like fifth year vets.Glennon did nothing in my eyes that says he should be the qb going forward.

Haters gonna hate , as they say...
Stats tell us very little about a QB. The eye test is even more important with QB's. The problem lies there in. Some people put their eye on JFF and are blown away. Some put their eye on him and are underwhelmed. It's just so subjective.

Is there any Glennon hate?

while hate is a strong word, I don't think calling Glennon a giraffe or napolean dynamite clone are endearing pictures being painted. Just not sure why people can't sit back and see what a real coaching staff (we hope) will determine with where the Bucs are at, and can #8 be the guy. (the plus is, then that #7 pick can be used on another hole, like OL, DE, LB, or trade down to recoup picks and get a TE and maybe a third round pick plus a late round pick)If Tedford and Lovie determine that Glennon is incapable of leading the team, we will see another qb.
What a stupid article. Glennon doesnt compare to gradkowski in the least bit. This is why 120 pound SABR nerds whove never touched a football, shouldnt be allowed to analyze the game. Statistics/numbers without a sharp football mind behind them lead to misleading assertions

Honestly - to me - Glennon has shown flashes when he wasn't terrible. Not the same as showing potential to become a NFL starting qb.

He's shown more than just not being bad. He has shown big time NFL ability and not just really intermittent flashes like a Gradkowski. The problem for me isn't that he hasn't shown he can start but that he hasn't shown me enough flashes to say he is more than a Flacco/Dalton level starter. Yes, playoff capable but always a "problem" once you get there - and I know Flacco won a SB but he also went unconscious doing so and played in a way he has never played before.
