My favorite part is when you assert that the injured Kirk Cousins is a better option than Baker Mayfield for the Buccaneers. My favorite is when he claims Mayfield outplayed Cousins, gets provided head to head numbers. Then brings up stuff that has nothing to do with that said H2H match-up.That is serious cult-like statements
What made it “cult-like” was the bold faced lies and outlandish fabrications to bolster his/her arguments.
- Claiming the National Media favored Baker over Cousins as the top FA QB
- Making up, not one, but two ACL injuries
- Making up a SECOND torn Achilles tear/injury
- Etc.
I mean, that’s just pathetic, even for these parts.
It is actually hilarious.
Then Buc fans talk about the losing team and pine for that QB…

well i think that's the argument you need to make
Baker is clearly the better fit for Tampa and thus why Cousins aint even a thought for them
but if you are asking a team like Denver, Minnesota or Pittsburgh who'd they want to give a 2 year deal too...they are definitely going all in with Cousins who has a more proven track record than Baker. Those teams would likely be interested in the thought of being a QB away from Super Bowl contention (even though we all know Cousins chokes in playoffs and is just about a .500 QB, he is still better than their QB play in 2023 10x.
For a team that wants to contend and build off something that will last 4-5 years, that is where Baker Mayfield will be more sought after than Cousins - your Tampa Bays, Atlanta, Washington, New England's. Those are teams that may covet Mayfield more than Cousin's resume.
but yeah if we needed to power rank QBs, most would have Cousins ranked higher than Baker to start the 2024 season...and that isn't to say that Baker can't turn out to be the better QB, it's just given the history, Cousins puts up some nice numbers. He's just not a winner given the teams he's been on. Folds in playoffs.
So, you want Kirk over Baker, too? Noted. It's quite hilarious because every NFL media outlet, non-bias ones at that, was posted by @DonkeyHunter had an injured Cousins over Mayfield in free agency. My favorite part is when you assert that the injured Kirk Cousins is a better option than Baker Mayfield for the Buccaneers. My favorite is when he claims Mayfield outplayed Cousins, gets provided head to head numbers. Baker sealed the game on the final drive.
The point, lest it get burried under numerous posts: Kirk Cousins would not have made it 8 games behind this line, he was not an option last season, and after the way Baker handled the season, he is not an option, here, this season.
Lots of stats - lots of missing playoff runs & when his team did make it to the wildcard round - early exits.
It’s only an argument until we see what the league thinks of both of them.
That has been my point. The Baker-Haters have joined forces with TraskForce to make an argument that the stats argue for Kirk Cousins - but that was only after they were asked for a better option. My favorite part is when you assert that the injured Kirk Cousins is a better option than Baker Mayfield for the Buccaneers. My favorite is when he claims Mayfield outplayed Cousins, gets provided head to head numbers. They came up with stats to prove Kirk is the better option…he is not, not for the Bucs.
I further asserted that if they both made it to free agency - I contend Baker Mayfield, at 29 - versus Kirk Cousins at 36 and recovering from a serious injury - Baker would be the first choice.
It doesn’t really matter to me, as I believe Baker is the first choice, here.
The only way Kirk gets any consideration, here, is if the Bucs don’t re-sign Baker.
I’ll go further, I don’t think Mike Evans signs, here, if Kirk Cousins is the only other option.
I don't know why they're talking about franchising Winfield. Just give him 4 years, $80M. He's worth it and it makes him the highest paid safety. Everyone wins.
Cousins wants $45 mil per year for 2 yrs
He's 78-70-2 in his career
In 11 seasons he's been to the playoffs 4 times,,,,,, 4,,,,,,,,, his first while riding the pine for RG3 so only 3 times in 10 as a starter
Baker haters are correct... Cousins is a much better FA value plus if they don't sign Baker they lose Evans, get to draft a young WR and Trask will lead them to Glory
IOW, if you play Mayfield for the fool then maybe they both go to Atlanta and the Bucs will have to wait until Mahomes is 38 so they can sign another 'GOAT'
Until then the haters can discuss all the great Bucs QB's of the past adfinitum
... or you can pay Cousins because, Media

Agreed, and that's where this all started. No idea why that is controversial.
He's just not a winner given the teams he's been on. Folds in playoffs.
This part about Cousins is being exaggerated. Here is his last playoff game:
31/39, 273 yards, 7.0 YPA, 79.5 Comp %, 2 TD, 0 Int, and 112.9 QB rating. That's a pretty damn good game.
Are we really going to blame Kurt Cousins for the Vikings defense not being able to stop Daniel Jones (301 yards & 114.1 QR rating) from leading his team to 31 points? That's like blaming Mayfield for the Bucs defense not being able to stop the Lions in that playoff loss.
Overall in 4 playoff games (I'm not counting him replacing RGIII as a backup where he only attempted 10 passes, 0 TD, 0 Int in 2012) as a starter, Cousins is 100/145, 1,016 yards, 7.0 YPA, 69.6 Comp %, 5 TD, 1 Int, and 97.4 QB rating. I'm not sure anyone would call that folding. Overall, he's pretty solid, but not spectacular in the playoffs.
Again, some in national media.
Yet, you said...
now even even national sports media think Mayfield would be the preferred FA QB?
There's no "some" in that statement, White Lyin'.
You made up some bullshit. Got called out. Instead of owning it, you continue to double down.
Never said 2 achilles tears -
Here's your extensive acumen on Cousins' injury history:
Kirk Cousins now has a torn ACL
...
guess they could adapt for Kirk, but that ACL on a soon to be 36 y/o is more of a concern than you realize.
...
So, to be clear, you don’t think a 37 y/o quarterback, having his 2nd ACL tear, is a concern?
...
So, you not only mention a torn ACL multiple times; you then claim it's the SECOND time it's happened.
I mean, with the bullshit you make up, I can only assume you'll be posting they amputated his leg next week or that his hand fell off.
I believe the Baker-Haters have already been given this scenario, and they would have no trouble paying Cousins $45m, as his stats say he’s the better option.Cousins wants $45 mil per year for 2 yrs
He's 78-70-2 in his career

Fortunately, the Bucs are moving towards Baker for 2024, and somehow aren’t swayed by Kirk’s stats.
He's 78-70-2 in his career
Which just so happens to be better than Mayfield at 40-46.
I don't know why they're talking about franchising Winfield. Just give him 4 years, $80M. He's worth it and it makes him the highest paid safety. Everyone wins.
I don't think he gets tagged. I think the contract gets worked out.

They're not the national media though.
Heavy.com Sports is.
White Lyin' gonna keep lyin'....
yep, that’s the mistake - it was an Achilles. That one’s the one you need to worry about.Again, some in national media.

oh, and the fact that the Bucs have already decided on Baker, Mayfield, not Kyle or Kirk.
I’m beginning to think you guys want Kirk, because he gives Kyle the best chance to start next season.
Too bad, Baker Mayfield will be the starter…and no one will remember all the stats from your hilarious posts trying to influence someone, anyone, that Kirk Cousins should be leading this team.
Should be a great season not seeing Kirk Cousins in a Bucs uniform, ever.
yep, that’s the mistake - it was an Achilles. That one’s the one you need to worry about
Oh…so it wasn’t the first ACL tear or the second ACL tear?
Only took a week, but good to see you owning the fact you had either:
1. ZERO idea of what the hell you were talking about
or…
2. Blatantly fabricated stuff to bolster your argument that continually moves goal posts.
We move on, White Lyin’, we move on…
