I think everyone within their lifetimes should have to eat some humble pie. I have many times, more than I ever wanted. Devin is getting his. Hopefully he will learn from it.

well said.
agree
I think QB is set and I do not see the Bucs rolling the dice on a QB through the draft.
Thompkins is the only short WR on the Bucs roster right now but it also means that the Bucs will be looking to add a WR with size through FA and/or the draft. Bucs have 8 WR on the roster at the moment so they should have room for 2-3 more spots.
TE is basically the same compared to late in the off season of last year. The difference is that Durham leap frogged Well and Taula. All indications point to the Bucs not adding a FA TE and will add a drafted TE to this group and keep the best four on the active roster IMO.
Adding Opeta and Bredeson helps with depth and potential plug in starters if needed. But the Bucs tend to carry extra 2-3 more interior OL before mini camp so I expect the Bucs to draft at least one interior OL and add two undrafted free agents here.
Running back is basically the same as last year. But like TE I anticipate the Bucs using a draft pick to draft a RB and keep the best four from a pool of five. Tuckers has to show more because Laird has special teams prowess.
Overall it feels like the Bucs offense isn't going to see big changes although adding another dynamic WR, TE or RB and shoring up interior OL would do wonders for the offense.
Just saw Jason Licht’s recent comments regarding ‘two more priorities’ (extending Winfield and Wirfs), is that an indications we are clearing some cap space for an Edge (a possible trade for someone like Hassan Reddick)?
…or am I mining for ‘fools gold’?
It might seem like a good idea to us fans, but Licht isn't going to do it. He's trying to build through the draft and UDFAs while hanging onto the veteran core players. He's going to continue to flood the team with young guys like he did last year and supplement with bargain basement free agents. Rightly or wrongly, Licht isn't looking to bring in high priced star players through free agency or by trade.Just saw Jason Licht’s recent comments regarding ‘two more priorities’ (extending Winfield and Wirfs), is that an indications we are clearing some cap space for an Edge (a possible trade for someone like Hassan Reddick)?

Yeah, as I said in another thread, I’m (slowly) letting go of my Hasson Reddick fever dream.
😭 😭 😭
Potential fits in free agency for remaining holes
QB 4- no more older free agents added, Bucs could potentially add a guy draft of extreme value (like if Penix falls). More than likely an UDFA for a camp arm
HB-
It just doesn’t look like Licht is looking to free agency to fill this position, Need competition for Edmonds and Tucker. Period you need atleast 4 guys going into every season. I really don’t love this years running back class; but I’m sure there are a couple bell-cow type plodders. Marshawn Lloyd from USC?
WR-
I don’t see the Bucs adding any expensive vets. Maybe somebody for a camp body and a minimum typer deal. draft is loaded at WR. I would be shocked if they don’t come away with somebody next month
TE- the draft is incredibly weak at the position and Bucs desperately need an upgrade over Ko Kieft (love that kid but that’s not an NFL player lol). I would find it LIKELY they are trying to find a good deal on a vet in free agency. Hayden Hurst or Logan Thomas perhaps?
T-one of the few positions we are solid all the way at
G/C-
i imagine the Bucs are done at these positions until after the draft. They are poised to use an early pick on an interior lineman and possibly a second guy later in the draft (like Puni from Kansas).
OLB-
To me, this remains the biggest hole on the roster. There are no free agents worth going after that represent an upgrade over Nelson or Watts. It would be incredible to land a guy like Verse or Latu with the first pick but that will remain to be seen. If the Bucs do not come away with a pass rusher early in the draft it’s possible they could deal a 2025 pick for a vet. I’m VERY concerned about this position
D-line- huge need still to fill the Gholston void. It isn’t being talked about enough! I could see the Bucs using that 2nd pick on Fiske from Florida State or the kid from Clemson. Some great old vet players on the market still like Calais Campbell(I don’t care how old that man is), and Shelby Harris. Potential Bucs targets
ILB-
Idk, like at T I think the Bucs are pretty solid at this postion. I see the top 4 ilb’s on the roster right now.
S/cb-
2 more holes on this roster at DB, ideally both would be good at special teams. I expect the Bucs to draft ATLEAST 1 guy and possibly 2. Corner is obviously the more pressing need and could see a day 2 pick.
So, before the draft I can only see the team targeting a mid-tier vet at TE, DLineman or HB. All other positions will be looked to be filled post draft
😭 😭 😭
LMAO at wINsTon as Watson's mentor. Is there ANYTHING morally right that either one of them could teach the other? C'mon man!
Rightly or wrongly, Licht isn't looking to bring in high priced star players through free agency or by trade.
Nor should he.
The normal casuals were looking for "names" on FA. Remember the idiots banging the drum for...checks notes...Julio Jones...LOL!
I laugh, as there were a few on here banging the drums to bring in Chase Young.
Clearly, none of those posters watched a single game he's played the past few years.
Hilarious that he signs with the Saints on a Monday, and they announce his neck surgery on Tuesday with hopes that he'll be ready for Week One.
The snark is strong with this one…
I left my drums at home, but I admit to being interested in Chase Young. Mahomes saw plenty of explosion from him in the Super Bowl, so yeah, the Buckeye lured me in. I got over it real quick as soon as I heard NOLA signed him, and then he checked in for neck surgery soon after.
Have I learned some lesson? Nah, cuz I’d be great if the Bucs cleared enough room to make a trade for an Edge before the draft.
But I’m also comfortable with the current rotation, and hope that we draft one of those cool top-ranked, shiny, new, Edge rushers in the first round…or maybe they’ll fall all the way to the 2nd round!
You're right, Hopium is waaay better than drum beating.
Hey, anyone seen my drums?
The snark is strong with this one…
Happy you noticed!
But, in all seriousness, I think we'll both be happy come draft weekend, as I'm sure we'll see EDGE early.
Bucs could add a veteran WR but as Jones/Gage situations show you can't rely on vets. More likely the Bucs draft a WR that can play boundary or in the slot since Coen will run a lot of 11 personnel.
Of all the WRs under contract only Thompkins is the only WR under 6 ft. It is possible that Coen wants to add a more shiftier shorter WR for slot but Godwin is capable of playing in the slot. And Palmer or Jarrett are explosive enough to play slot too so I am thinking the Bucs may want to add a boundary WR to develop so that way Godwin can play inside full time. Of course Palmer or Jarrett could take the next step to be a boundary WR but more likely the Bucs draft a boundary WR to develop and step into that role.

We know the Bucs had formal interviews with Brian Thomas Jr. and Keon Coleman.
And, I don't think Godwin returns in 2025.
So, yeah, it's definitely a possibility they go WR early.
Godwin would be missed but his 27 mil cap hit this year is brutal
tough for any team to pay 2 wide receivers #1 money, sadly.
Snead to the titans for a 2025 3rd.
Will become the top paid corner once his new contract is signed.
