RB - would argue we could have done better than Edmonds but looks like they are content here
TE - could use another TE to push Otton
OG
C
ILB - are we going with Britt?
Edge - Yaya has got one spot but we could use some help here
CB - losing Davis creates a void
we also have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds so imagine we could see those picks addressing these 7 positions.
Bucs/Bowles may have wanted him to have the market set his value - it seemed like he may have had a higher opinion of himself than the team did. He has shown the ability to get to another level, but he either can’t, or won’t sustain that level of play.I’d take him back on a vet minimum incentive laden contract. Make homeboy earn every penny.
If he could have maintained that, his value would have been higher. Don’t know if it was an injury, or just an attitude issue, or a mixture of both, but that streakiness didn’t help us, or him.
Regarding TE: thought I read something from SR indicating Bucs targeting a FA/TE that could not only assist in the passing game, but one that could also contribute to run blocking. This would help the run game in that we wouldn’t tip the defense off on running plays.remaining holes

Got my eye on that…
@white-tiger as the last couple days have unfolded it’s proven to be slim pickings left on the tight end market. Logan Thomas is about all I would sniff at.
draft looking more likely for this position
C Connor Williams would immediately take heat off finding 2 interior starters. Even if we go for a Powers-Johnson there’s some flexibility to move to guard.
DJ Wonnum EDGE Vikings coming off a 8 sack year as a rotational guy .. only 26
The Bucs need to let #45 walk. He is a liability, not an asset. BYE BYE DEVIN.
Before the Whitehead signing, we had roughly $9M in cap space.
Keep in mind, estimated rookie will be around around $8M (then factor in seasonal operational cap).
I think they can open close to $49M in cap space with extensions/restructures/etc.
But, I doubt they do much in the regard (and rightfully so).
First Buc out the door:
Bucs chose not to put the 1.2 mil RFA tag on Leverett so it was a mutual parting of ways
@donkey_hunter Bucs may only need to restructure Vita Vea (if that) if they can crank out this Winfield deal (I’m thinking tonight) and Wirfs tomorrow.
The reason Winfield and Wirfs contracts are obviously being worked on is because they haven’t touched Vita Vea’s contract yet. These are your 3 easiest ways to clear necessary cap

Yeah.
Between Winfield and Wirfs, you have about $36M hitting the cap in 2024.
Vea is about $21M.
If you are using the Spotrac numbers they haven't updated Gage yet, which would save about $10 mil. As for the restructuring I agree they need to tread carefully. Before the Whitehead signing, we had roughly $9M in cap space.

For Godwin they already will have about $18 mil in dead money after this year.
Vea's already been restructured once a couple years ago, but you could do it again. He's pretty reliable.
Dean you could restructure but how much money do you want to guarantee for him? Right now you could get out of his contract pretty easily after this year if you had to with a $6 mil dead money hit. If you restructure you'd have to guarantee him more future money.
With Wirfs and Winfield of course you could reduce the cap hit for 2024 but you'd be pushing a lot of money down the road, which you already did with Evans and Mayfield.
So it seems like they should have cap room with the increased cap and getting rid of Brady and company's dead money. But apparently that money is already spent. We're done tapped out already!
