OK so they got the band back together on defense, and on offense they signed a QB, some 43 year old former 6th Round Pick to a 2 year deal. What does this all mean for the draft? As I've pointed out before, Licht has always drafted a 1st round pick with the intention of becoming a first year starter. And protecting Brady has to be the priority.
Plan A) Pick at 14. Its a no brainer if a top 4 OT is on the board. Likely Pick: Andrew Thomas.
Plan B) Trading down 4 to 6 spots. Likely picks Josh Jones, Austin Jackson, D'Andre Swift, Xavier McKinney, Cesar Ruiz.
Plan C) Trading Up just a spot or two. Likely pick Jedrick Wills, Tristan Wirfs.
Not in the plans: Kinlaw, Chaisson, Love, Herbert or any player who won't start. Please be advised don't mock a player to the Bucs in Round 1 who doesn't project to be an immediate starter.
