The downside of the mankins trade is that we are gaining an older player without much years left. The way I see it we are betting on a potentially elite defense by investing in an expensive stop gap (in my opinion rightfully so, he fills a huge need) to put the finishing touches on an offense that can be efficient, and score off turnovers.
