Are we talking about the NFL or the PFF? Cause in every thread you use the same QB rating excuse. The game is more than numbers Dal. If you wanna only look at number and ignore everything else, then Nick Foles is one of the best QBs to ever play the game of football. See how silly that is?
How ironic coming from a guy that post stats all the time. Not only that, but cherry picked stats that give the appearance you are right.
I mean people wanna point at Glennon;s low Interception number and high QB rating, but they completely ignore that the reason he has those numbers is because he takes zero chances and we have the worst offense in the league. Overall offense....Dead last. Passing yards.....Dead last. Points scored....bottom 3. You know why? Cause Glennon is afraid to take a chance or throw an interception and our coaching staff is playing to no lose instead of playing to win. Don't get me wrong, our coaching staff is horrible and making things worse, but they aren't out on the field missing open receivers and hesitating and making bad decisions and throwing off target passes. That is all Glennon,

No but he is having one of the great seasons which is what the number show you.Glennon isn't great but other QBs aren't great as rookies either. I agree that the lack of attacking bothers me but then again Luck was sub 7 YPA as a rookie, so was Dalton and Foles. Aaron Brooks and TJ Yates both had better than 7 YPA as rookies so I'm not sure that measure is the be all and end all. I'm not sold on Glennon, I do think he is more Dalton than Wilson or Ryan based on what we have seen. What tempers that is that our offense stinks pretty much across the board other than VJax and it isn't even schematically good. That doesn't excuse bad play but it does limit your upper end potential.
Dal....the Passer rating is calculated using a player's passing attempts, completions, yards, touchdowns, and interceptions. Nothing else is factored in. Not 3rd down conversion rate. or Sacks. or Fumbles. or Garbage time vs. Crunch time. It's a good stat to look at, but you have to look at everything else too. The Passing rating alone doesn't come anywhere close to telling the whole story.

I thought garbage time and crunch time are the same thing? Don't you evaluate in garbage time?
Seeing Glennon flail in the wind on those final few drives yesterday said a LOT. Parity is the name of the game in the NFL, and if you can't even complete a pass on two 2-minute drill drives.. I can't remember the last time we've been that bad.5 incompletions, 2 sacks and a pick to end the game.

I'm sure players give 100% in a lost cause. Down 3 scores after an emotional letdown on the KR I'm not sure what you expect.
They may not all end up being great BucNY, but the point is they have shown enough right off the bat that they were clearly worth sticking with long enough to see.
I agree with you 100% but I guess we differ in what we've seen from Glennon this year. I've been saying that if a guy can play QB you know it his first year. It might be a bit clouded but you see what you need to see. I would argue we have seen enough of Glennon to give him another year. Again, I think we both agree about his inconsistencies but differ and what exactly is causing them. I refuse to believe that Glennon can't play QB on one drive, then figures it out and goes 8-9 and a TD in a 90 yard drive then again forgets to how play. Some of that is on Mike, no doubt, but some of it is on coaching, running game, WR and so on. Mike wasn't great but he played his best game against top 10 defenses. Mike will end up statistically with one of the best seasons of all time for a rookie and I think that earns him another year. I know stats don't matter but the guy is throwing more TDs than most rookies in a bad offense with no running game.
I'm all for giving Glennon another season. But honestly, whether it's him or we draft another QB, does it really matter with this sh*tty excuse of a coaching staff?

Maybe, maybe not. So hard to tell.

What do I expect from you? Excuses. And you delivered.

Facts/reasons/excuses they all mean the same thing on this board which is excuses. There are reasons why this happens and that happens, but people such as yourself just like to think of them as an excuses. In the real world things happen which cause other things to happen. Which are called reasons. Fact is it was garbage time. Teams don't play 100%.

3rd down rate is variable based on how far you have to go. When you have a ton of 3rd and 14 s no one is gonna look good. That stat is not really good to compare across players. It tells you more about the overall skills of an offense than an individual - if you are in 3rd and 6 a lot your rate of conversion rate will be pretty good Garbage vs crunch, hell we don't have much garbage time. Crunch time doesn't exist. Passes in the first minute and last are worth the same thing. A TD drive in Q1 gets you 6 points just like one in Q4. I hate the notion that a guy who scores 2 TDs in Q1 but none thereafter isn't clutch but a guy who gets 2 TDs in Q4 is. You also likely think that closers are worth more than a middle reliever in baseball. Sack rate, you know who has the lowest rookie sack rate...Harrington, right behind him is Jason Campell also in the top 5 Kittner and Edwards. Sack rate means nada. Russel Wilson is worse than Ramsey, Gradkowski and Boller. Even using advanced metrics like average net yard per attempt that factors in as much as possible Glennon has the exact same rate as Foles. When you look at all the metrics Glennon falls right into a line with guys like Tannehill, Dalton and Flacco. Call that a good or ill thing.

The game is more than numbers Dal. That is unless it benefits JDub's statements.

You sound like 8 year old Lord Revis trying to tell his mom why his excuse is not an excuse.Fact is, if you're down 16 (2 TDs and 2 2pc's) in the 4th quarter with a chance to win and you're not playing 100% then the coach needs to be axed and the players disciplined.
