We know Bruce LOVES Blaine Gabbert.
He has said several times now in the last 2 days that we need to keep the defense together. That is our top priority. He also agreed Godwin needs to be a high priority as well.
How can we pay Jameis if we intend to keep Shaq, JPP, Suh, and Nassib, plus probably Beau Allen or Nunez Rochez AND lock up Godwin at 15mil a year?
It got me thinking.
If and when we decide to move on from Winston, we have to sign someone. Is Andy Dalton or Josh Rosen better than Gabbert?
He knows the system as well as anyone, having spent several years in it, both here and in Arizona.
He would be the answer when it comes to being able to retain every one else on the roster.
Obviously we would hope to get a guy like Justin Herbert in the draft to groom for a year or two, but in 2020, I have a sneaking suspicion Arians is going to lobby for Blaine Gabbert..
Will you guys all blow a fuse?
If it fails miserably at least we would get Trevor Lawrence and Dabbo Sweeney 🤣
Oh and there's this tidbit as well.
When questioned about whether Jameis would have a shorter leach in 2020 if he returned, Bruce basically said that Gabbert getting hurt was a huge part of Jameis not being pulled for throwing pics. In other words, if we had Blaine instead of Griffin, he would have been starting by the end of the season and Jameis would have been benched.
And some of you guys actually think Jameis is coming back?? Lollll
