The Bucs don't have the salary cap room to sign expensive FA's without mortgaging the future.
Julio was a disappointment last year.
No, he wasn't. He was EXACTLY what some of us said he'd be...multiple times.
same reason we don’t have a back up RB #2
Huh?
more likely to ride with Palmer to see what he has got
And, I hope this is the case. We aren't contenders. Give the kid the reps.
not having a back up running back, meaning competitive NFL caliber
White was a rookie last year so being the starter this year and has potential.
Edmonds has 2 100 yard games in his career. His last being in 2021 and was basically just a third stringer last year...what he have 245 yards? 5 years in, 27 years old, looks to be cooked.
one can certainly argue that in the worst division in football, we have the worst #2RB
Jamaal Williams of the Saints - has 4 - 2 of which were last season, 100 yard games and surpassed 1,000 yards.
Tyler Allgeier had 2 last year in his rookie year, surpassing 1,000 yards.
Heck even Carolina Chuba Hubbard had 1 last year and doubled Edmonds output.
you'll be on board by the bye week that this team has soft tanked
let's see
QB - Have Mayfield competing with Trask and either (1) Mayfield is so brutally bad that he can't unseat Trask or (2) our coaching staff is so incompetent that even players (Mike Evans) are trying to tell the coaching staff to pick a guy to get more reps with them.
RB - no debt behind White
WR - unfortunate news on Gage but not absolutely no depth behind Evans and Godwin. I like Palmer but im talking the handful of games you will see this year where Godwin or Evans miss due to injury.
TE - Blah position, but they usually are
OL - Luke is god awful; Wirfs is a stud but now playing new position
C - Will Jensen even play this year?
G - blah position, but they usually are
DE/DL - Hall is a bust, Clancy banged up to start year
ILB - White already has his bags packed for next team
OLB - Shaq recovering from injury, JTR a bust
CB - lucky fan, sitting in row 17, seat 4 as our nickel
K - new kicker? what possibly could go wrong
you'll be on board by the bye week that this team has soft tanked
Never said I wasn’t, Mr. AB 2.0
I hate agreeing with Biggs but he's right... not sure why you wanna die on this Scotty Miller hill?
He's a niche player that did some nice things for us a few times but doesn't have the skill set to play much in the NFL.
He just doesn't... he's a gadget player.
It's pretty easy to see.
Gage is made of glass so that sucks but I don't blame Licht for that signing in particular... the Jensen signing tho... burf
Final Diagnosis:
Torn Patellar Tendon
Damn…

Dang! That has to be painful. I think I'd be carted off crying also.
I read that it's career ending.
Fuuuuuck that sucks for him

Because he was home grown, cheap, had elite speed and complimented Evans and Godwin well. In 2020 Brady had a higher QBR and Bucs scored more PPG with Miller as the #3 compared to Brown. Does that mean Miller is better? No, but it says what Miller did to the offense. That niche, which was elite, back breaking speed, was exactly what this offense needed last year.
As for the Gage signing I'm going to explain to why it was terrible. Years 1-3 he averaged 432 yards per season. When evaluating free agents I've said ad nauseum to throw the contract year out because it's fools gold. Licht gave him 3 years, $30M and got 426 yards.
Palmer is Miller’s replacement, and a superior talent at that.

Now do 2021 & 2022.
Somehow, those stats not got compiled. Reality can be hard to deal with.
Gage didn't play a full healthy season so we will never know... but he's a good wr3.
I do agree that signing players after contract years is fools Gold.
But as far as Miller. He was on a contract year, why didn't he go off?
Hope that it is not a season ending injury for him. May need to possibly seek a second opinion. So sorry! How painful for him.
Licht has been negligent for not consulting the Oracle of Delphi to get some info. He should have known Gage would be getting multiple injuries and not signed him. And he should have known Brady would take almost every snap for three seasons and not wasted a pick on Trask. Come on, Licht! Get a crystal ball, hire a tarot card consultant... if you can't see into the future what good are you??

Both players are sixth round picks. Here is how they fared this season:
Rookie Palmer: 39 receptions, 385 yards, & 3 TD's
5th Year Miller: 11 receptions, 161 yards, & 2 TD's
Poor Scotty Miller can't find anyone to realize his immense talent.
Nothing says “I am not a troll” like bumping a Scotty Miller post
