Gonna map out the entire lions offense today from week 1 as that is what I think we need to stop. If we can hold them to 20 we win. There was a specific play the rams safety last week read regarding the hi-lo concept i referred to last year and he picked it off jumping the dig route on the hi
Wow, hold the Lions to 20, that's a big ask. IMHO the Lions are going to fire at will vs the Bucs weakened defense. The Bucs offense will find the going more difficult vs the Lions defense, they are definitely not the Redskins. Lion 34 - Bucs 23. I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I see happening on Sunday. I just hope our division opponents lose as well. All three are facing some good teams this week.
Yea no doubt im 30 plays in, and there's a lot of shift's, motions, disguises, from the the 3wr 1 te set or 2te 2 wr ,2rb 2te 1wr set that theywill spread to shift to motion to find leverage on run plays. Ben johnson is playing madden out there lol. Lots of presnap dressing. The craziest play was a rg pull with a te orbit pull for JW 15 yard reverse, you need elite trnech play and lb play to not get your eyes lost and then hope you weren't misdirected
For the generic statement hold gaps, but also pressure gaps. eyes on jamison willaims as hes due for 2 20+ yard plays with the misdirection designs he has that comes with his speed, id have to finish looking at all of it, then rerun it to really get an idea of how i would stop the run fits and how i personally would be placing guys in the right position. It's jsut fun for me, but maybe someone reads it
We'll throw a few 6-1 fronts to fill the gaps if it was my guess
Finished mapping the 61 plays they had. Key is 100% stopping the run, we need to hold our gaps and to fill. Perosonally I wouldn't wanna let detroit double team my lineman so I might go with that 6-1 front very often with 2 high. Eyes need to be on JW they look for cheap gamebreaking plays using him. If we are in zone watch him, if we are in man watch him coming across the mesh. Edge needs to be set and linebackers need to reach the perimeter. We have to stop Jameson Williams.
In the case we go into lots of zone we'll see the flood and hi lo concepts pretty often. Week2 so playbook is still open for Lions. Ben johnson's offense had lots of wrinkles week 1 didnt catch the same tendencies from last year other than some concepts being used. They look different due to the usage of JW makes sense he went off for 5 catches 121 yards and 13 rushing yards.
Diaby had the fourth most pressures week 1 so I am not really worried about pass rush from the edge. Losing Kancey with his interior pass rush is a downgrade though.

Yup stop the run and cut out the gimmicks with JW and the Lions become ordinary. Plus, the Bucs offense putting up points early may change how Lions try to approach play calling on offense. Bucs offense needs to start fast and put up TDs.
