Schiano is politicking for his job right now, plain and simple. He wants to put it out there that without him, all these great players wouldn't be great. He knows that the Glazers haven't decided yet, so he's just throwing everything he can out there to make himself look good.

Nailed it....
That's all he's ever done well. Politics. It helps him out with recruitment, both fa's and in the college ranks, but it does nothing for him on gameday when it matters.Schiano is a self absorbed oldscool coach who cannot adapt. The writing is on the wall. All we are now waiting on is when.
Schiano is crazy. Isn't this the same genius who just put Revis on Boldin and Banks on Crabtree? I mean why not just gift wrap the win for them? Schiano does know how to create mismatches. I'll give him credit for that. Seriously the Schiano experiment must end.

Considering how hot Boldin has been the last 3 weeks, and Crabtree visibly "hobbled" according to Revis, why not put Banks on Crabtree? He did hold Megatron in check. Your analysis is clouded with anti Schiano bias.
All those stunts must be really paying off.
Next we will see Schiano telling McCoy what to say to the team. Oh, wait.

I thought Revis on Boldin was the best plan. i think Boldin would of killed banks....

I'm pretty sure the "best" plan is whatever schiano doesn't do.
Gerald McCoy was playing well in 2011, the whole defense collapsed after he was injured. As for Revis on Crabtree/Boldin debate, I think we made the right choice. Crabtree is the younger, more athletic player, but Boldin has been productive all year long. He owned Sherman the week before, and it just wouldn't go over well with a veteran like him versus a rookie. Crabtree is still a bit more raw, and prone to mistakes like bad route running,.

Banks is a big dude, so him covering Boldin makes sense.
Gerald McCoy Needed Greg Schiano...Its more like how much better would McCoy be if Schiano wasn't holding him back with his wacky defense.I hope he is not taking credit for Gerald's success..
Wacky defense indeed. The same wacky defense that dropped two de's into coverage and brought two to pursue? Priceless.Same wacky defense that stunts like it's going out of style? Continuity is only your friend if you're doing it right.Same defense that thinks revis should be in zone? They lied about his injury, he was fine physically.Schiano will never have the ability to be a playoff bound coach, and that's all I need to know. People can sit around making excuses to why he should stay, but it's obvious we're just twiddling our thumbs if he stays. Those billboards never should have came down.
With respect to the Revis vs Crabtree discussion: http://www.thebaycave.com/2013/12/17/michael-crabtree-takes-a-shot-at-darrelle-revis/ Michael Crabtree takes a shot at Darrelle RevisBucs by Gil ArciaAs if the loss to the 49ers this past Sunday was not bad enough, now their players are kicking the Bucs while they are down. Particularly San Francisco wide receiver Michael Crabtree.Crabtree, who finished the game catching five passes for 45 yards and a touchdown, missed the first 11 games due to Achilles surgery in the offseason. Now after catching a touchdown against the Buccaneers, he felt the need to take a shot at All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis when he was asked about the challenge of playing against him.“Who? Huh? Who?” Crabtree said about Revis. “Don’t talk to me about those guys. I’m out there playing ball. They used to be talking about some island or something. I didn’t see that.”Crabtree is right, he didn’t see an island. That island was busy covering wide receiver Anquan Boldin for most of the game — who had just 43 yards receiving. The fifth-year wide receiver caught his lone touchdown pass against Bucs’ rookie cornerback Johnthan Banks after quarterback Colin Kaepernick was initially looking Boldin’s way. But since Revis was blanketing Boldin, Kaepernick flushed out of the pocket and allowed Crabtree to make a move in the end zone which freed him up along the sideline. His other big play came in the fourth quarter when he worked the sidelines as Kaepernick once again extended a play after eluding pressure. It was a third-and-12 that had Bucs’ cornerback Leonard Johnson responsible for Crabtree. Again, no Revis.Perhaps Crabtree was simply implying he didn’t see Revis. But with his sarcasm at the beginning of his quote, that’s doubtful.Follow Gil on Twitter: @GilArciaTBC
