So at the end of practice, when most of the players had gone inside, McCoy came out to the bleachers to sign autographs. He didn't just stand at the fence like most players, he actually came over the fence and sat in the bleachers. Not only that, he sat there and signed autographs for every last fan, and there were quite a few. But here's the thing, the entire time he seemed like such a d***. And I'm a huge fan of the guy, but I have to say I was disappointed. Several people tried to engage with him or ask him questions and he had this complete 'I don't want to talk to you, shut up' kind of attitude. It's not just Gerald, it's most players. And I get that there are a lot of fans who are obnoxious and make the rest of us look bad. But me personally? I've been a loyal, supportive fan since I was old enough to know what a football was. I am crazy passionate about my Bucs. And I'm a huge fan of McCoy. But I was really disappointed with how cold he acted towards his own fans. I even asked him for a simple handshake and his response? 'Sorry, my hands are tired'. He was good about getting everyone their autograph though, especially the kids, but still. If you're in a shit mood and don't want to be bothered by fans, why bother?
