The Bucs travel to New Jersey and this could be a tougher matchup than we would like. The Giants suck but have been keeping it close. They're coming off a bye as well. A loss and we have to run the table 6-0 just to be 10-7... when you start to play math games in November that's not a good sign.
You know who would like to beat the Bucs? Dave Canales. We're off to visit him after the Giants. He's won two in a row. Imagine losing to Canales. This would not sit well with the Bucs brass.
The schedule is a minefield for Bowles. Any misstep will be like a little bomb going off on the Bucs chances and his job.

That ship has sailed, buddy.

I think that happened already with the second Falcons game because that was really sort of the nail in the coffin for this season. Hard to imagine them winning out and even that might not be enough
I have full confidence the Bucs will win a majority of the remaining games. I have zero confidence they will win every game.

6-1 with the loss being the Chargers will likely get them in.
Doing the math, it is hard for the Bucs to make the playoffs without winning all their remaining games. They need some teams to go on losing streaks.
You’re exactly right. None of these games are guaranteed wins. Especially with our defense. One of the last times we played Danny-boy he ran all over us on the way to a second half comeback win. And it would make Canales’ season to beat us at least once.

Agreed, that should get them in. Highly doubt they can go 6-1 with the current state of the defense. 5-2 4-3 is more likely. Chargers are a better team right now. The Panthers are not the same team as the first month of the season. Saints are going to get a boost now that Dennis Allen is gone.
My point is the Bucs just are not consistent enough and typically play down to competition.
I think that's wishful thinking. Just because it happened last year doesn't mean it will this year. One of these losing teams is going to step up and beat the Bucs just because that's the NFL. The Bucs are better than a 4-6 team, but here we are. You just don't sweep through seven games like it's nothing. This is the NFL and a team or two is going to step up and take one from us. Unfortunately, I think it will be one of these next two road games.I have full confidence the Bucs will win a majority of the remaining games. I have zero confidence they will win every game.

Maybe. But I havent seen evidence of it. We played one bad team and beat the living breaks off of them. What I have seen is a team that is injured team playing literally the best teams in the NFL and beating them or having them on the brink. Now we play the bottom feeders week after week coming off the bye. If we played our schedule in reverse order we'd probably be 8-2.
I hope you're right. San Francisco was 4-4 and tried to make it 4-5 and we didn't let them.I think that's wishful thinking. Just because it happened last year doesn't mean it will this year. You keep saying this. and yes, now with Prescott likely out, we will likely be favored in 6 out of our remaining 7 games. So let's say we go 10-7 for augment sake; the NFC West and NFC North loaded with teams ahead of us.
it's not looking good
Let's assume these 4 division winners for argument sake - Falcons, Lions, Eagles, and 49ers. Yes, Falcons are not going worse than 10-7 with Giants, Raiders, and Panthers on the schedule. 49ers will go on their run, may even win out. Feel Eagles remaining schedule easier than Commanders.
Teams ahead of us for final 3 spots:
1. Minnesota - 7-2
2 - Commanders -7-3
3 - Green Bay - 6-3
-------------------------------------
4. Arizona - 6-4
5. Rams - 4-4
6 . Bears 4-5
7. Seahawks - 4-5
8. Bucs - 4-6
Hard to imagine the Vikings or Commanders limping in with 10 wins. Wont do the math with so many teams ahead of us but we would need alot of help here at 10-7. Didnt even think we had to worry about the Cardinals but it would appear we should be rooting heavily against Green Bay and Arizona going forward, as much as you'd root against Atlanta.
Usually 10 wins gets you in the playoffs with the 7th seed added but it's not like 10 win teams or even 11 win teams havent made the playoffs before in the 6th seed format. We would need a couple of the teams ahead of us to see their season derailed with an injury most likely.
I have full confidence the Bucs will win a majority of the remaining games. I have zero confidence they will win every game.
Same
I mean just like the statistics were heavily against the Bucs being as healthy this year as last, the statistics are always lined up against that kind of streak.
No one here is betting the farm on a run of wins all the way to the end, right?
"NFL.com claim the Bucs have a 33 percent chance to make the postseason, via wild card or division title. . . ESPN says the Bucs have a 22 percent shot at the postseason and the New York Times model puts Tampa Bay at 15 percent"

of course we are not mathematically eliminated yet but this reminds me more of that lost decade of the 2010's when we are like 3 games back of a spot with 7 to go thinking anything could happen. a fruitless effort
talk to me when we get back to .500 and i may have a more hopeful view
