I hate Schiano, ahhhhh he's such a horrible coach! Look at our offense, it's horrible. Let's bring in.......Lovie Smith, a guy with a lengthy history of completely inept offensive football! Yep, this is how ridiculous our fans are. Wanted Schiano gone? Cool. Want him replaced with Lovie Smith? You're a fool.
Lovie doesn't coach offense , so it's really just a question of getting the right pieces in place on offense and/or the the right coordinator.See Tony Dungy as example. History of Inept offense - awesome offense once he got to Indy.I didn't want Lovie either until I found out he comes as a package deal with Tedford. Now I'm cool with it if it happens.
All of the Lovie tweets scream "I'm a guy campaigning for a job"...Lovie may be more enamored with the job than the Glazers are with him...The Lovie deal is MEH to me...Wisenhunt or Jay Gruden would be better IMHO...but once again...the Glazers are doing it ASS BACKWARDS...the GM should be in charge of hiring a coach
Unless the next HC is the GM. Not to mention even with a GM picking a HC the owners are still involved. They'd be stupid to sit on the sidelines while some unproven GM slings their cash around.
I shudder at the thought of a HC/GM combination...it is a recipe for disaster!!! Name ONE guy who held the HC/GM title and was successful???I will hang up and listen...
I'll name just ONE and stop to spare your feelings, Bill Belichick!
You are not sparing my feelings sweetheart...trust me.OK...you have Belichick...ONE guy in the last 35 years...even Parcells couldn't make it work.Just say NO to a guy with TOTAL control
I would argue that NE has had success in spite of Belichick's power. The Patriots didn't have the roster issues with Scott Pioli around like they've had the past few years. That's not an endorsement of Pioli, for the record...

Whatever you want to call it doesn't matter. It works and has for over a decade. They make the playoffs/SB even when they have players going to jail for murder or their star players injured. Don't be butthurt like MarineBuc.

You are a funny little girl...aren't you? No butthurt here...I acknowledged your point...what do you want? Someone to give you an innerweb medal?Pioli does deserve a ton of credit for what he did in NE (doesn't matter what his title was, he was the GM for all intents and purporses) as well as KC...not an endorsement for him to come here though...word on the street is that he is difficult as hell to deal with.
The pats are also in a division with the bills, jets and dolphins... so they've usually had their post-season invitation handed to them.

He mad!

HAHAHA...this certainly fits into the equation.
I'd be fine with a "czar" guiding the operation but I agree that HC/GM combos typically don't work
Let's not even go into HC's who have complete roster control even with a GM (puppet/figurehead). Or even how Bill Parcells wasn't successful yet all the EXPERTS say otherwise. Know-it-all-fans have it covered!
Interesting. I just worry about tampa 2 becoming the staple. The new NFL has no respect for it.
EVERY team runs cover 2 in the NFL, but NO team runs it exclusively anymore. If Lovie gets the job in Tampa and brings in Marinelli or Frazier to run the defense, I guarantee that it's top five next year.
Can we make the new guys official title "Czar of Football Operations". That has a ring to it.

Or just shorten it to Shanahan/Cowher/etc. :p
Quit the fighting guys. The glazers are going to do what they are going to do. Lets just hope we don't mess upAgain. I will be extremely happy of we are the first team with a coach. Remember last time around? Glazers sat on their hands and look what happened.
I definitely could see taking a year off in the hopes of getting a "dream" job. I know if I had been coaching non-stop since 1983 and had plenty of money and it looked like a job was possibly opening up in Tampa, I'd take a year off rather than take a job in Buffalo or Cleveland last year.
