Glennon is going to a look next season, but I agree that we shouldn't proceed without a viable "Plan B". A late-round rookie isn't going to do that. This is why I'd prefer a veteran to be brought in and let the winner take all. All of this, of course, depends on who is coaching the team next season. The new guy, if one is brought in, might have a different philosophy. One that doesn't include a QB like Glennon.

So...we let Glennon fight it out against a recycled nobody and that gains us exactly what?Scenario 1) Glennon wins, now we have a nobody with no upside backing him upScenario  2) Glennon loses.  Now we have a nobody starting and Glennon backing him up.Great plan there.

It's as simple as this. For now Glennon IS the guy. Therefore he needs a vet to back him up in case of injury. Also someone to teach him more. If it turns out he's not the guy afterall then we draft Famous Jameis.

One of the more encouraging stats is Glennon's Red Zone efficiency, Given the lack of a consistant running game, and only a rookie FA TE and Jackson to throw to behind our erratic O'line, the Bucs as a team had a 90.7 QB eficiency in the Red Zone. Little doubt that Freeman's 3 games dragged that down a bit. Only 1.5 points behind Seattle... http://www.sportingcharts.com/NFL/stats/quarterback-rating-in-red-zone/2013/

Josh Freeman: Given 5 year pass because he is "young"Mike Glennon: Given less than a season

Well said!

Maybe because Freeman led comebacks as a rookie. That says talent. Glennon has not shown that potential. Freeman was 21 as a rookie. And the 10 win second year is what earned him the extra time. You would think 27 TDs and 4065 yards would have earned him more than 3 games, this year. But I digress, Mike is a good kid, an okaypplayer, but he has not shown the ability to take command of a game.

Oh lord, you're really not going there are you? Step away from the key board and let that one simmer for a bit.

He was 4-9 and we had the worst offense.  He was serviceable but isn't special.  He is Alex Smith or a poor mans Joe Flacco minus the long ball arm strength.  He wont embarrass you, but the Bucs will never be a special team without a star QB, and he is never going to be a star QB.  Ultimately, it comes down to the 2014 coaching staff.  If Schiano isn't in Happy Valley, it wont matter who the QB is, and quite frankly, I wont care either.  If a real HC is brought in, the system will dictate who the QB is.

Great back up, but can't make enough game changing plays to make the Bucs a winner.

So much fail in this thread....To think you guys know what he is or isn't after 13 games might be the dumbest thing i've read around here in a while, and I've read a lot of dumb things. Maybe he'll get a little better, maybe a lot better, maybe no better. But to think you guys have even half a clue about it from watching him on TV is just dumb.

You forgot the most important stat of all. Win-Loss record. Glennon was 4-9 as our starting QB. Not good nuff. I agree that he might be a good backup for us, which saying something cuz we aint had backup QB worth a damn here in the past several seasons. Thank you for that, Marky Mark Dominick!

If we could get someone better than Glennon, I would be all for it.

Your right, QB is the only spot that controls a W vs. L

Given what we now know of Glennon, I believe he'd be a top 10 pick in this upcoming draft.  He far exceeded my expectations this year.  The Bucs team as a whole was incredibly inconsistent this year.  Yesterday alone, VJax dropped several easy balls, Revis got burned, our safeties were non-existent, we had no running game, and the coaching was below average.  For me the much bigger issue/question is surrounding our coach.  Dude is clearly still learning on the job.  You make even Whisenhunt our coach, we're a much better team.
