A movie producer should start working on another NFL draft movie. Draft Day was awful. I mean, it interested me because I am a fan of the NFL, but it was just done very poorly and without much purpose. The cheesy, over-dramatic scenes helped sealed that movie's fate (in my book) as one of the worst sports movies ever made. I think a better story could be told.... One that involves the Bucs and the 2015 draft. Think of the interesting scenes and story lines that could be tied together. On one hand you have the Kinsman accusation, the misdeeds of Jameis Winston (both the ill-perceived and actual), as well as his perceived public image. On the other hand, you have this aching NFL franchise who is in desperate need of exposure/notoriety, ticket sales, and(most importantly) WINS. They should call this movie Going Number One.I can imagine a lot of great story telling involving the extensive process that the Bucs went through in their vetting of Jameis Winston. The countless interviews they sat through, the trips they made all over the country, the PR backlash (that the Bucs may or may not get) and their method of trying to suppress said backlash would be interesting to see in this production. Include some kind of vantage on the rivalry between Mariota and Winston. Sprinkle in some scenes involving other players' misdeeds from around the NFL (at the same time this was all going down), the conflicts that may have gone on among those who make decisions for the Bucs, and maybe even drama between the local and national media. And who knows, by the time its finished people might give a damn about the Bucs again.
