Nrbqles.jpgI just finished my one round 31 team 2016 NFL Mock Draft. NE has forfeited their No.1 for cheating. This mock is mostly made up of how I think these players will likely be chosen however I did sprinkle in a bit of my rankings as to where some of these players will go. This is obvious right from the very first pick on. You won't find this kind of mock draft anywhere else as I do not copy off of others and I have a different idea of the likely outcomes. Keep in mind everyone that this is only a mock draft. Nobody knows where any of these players will go. 1- Tennessee DeForest Buckner DL Everyone expecting Tennessee to draft Tunsil forgot one thing. Tennessee gave up the 5th most points last year on defense. Jon Robinson knows he needs to build this team from the trenches out and Buckner is the best DL in the draft. Buckner has incredible length and a non-stop motor. He becomes the superstar on defense Tennessee is lacking..2- ClevelandJared Goff QB Hue Jackson needs a franchise QB in order to succeed. Cleveland takes another swing at their franchise QB after failing miserable with Manziel, Weedon, and the dozens of others before them. 3- San DiegoLaremy Tunsil OTSan Diego desperately needs to improve their defense but they can't pass on the fleet footed left tackle. Rivers sack numbers have steadily increased the last 3 years. They need to protect him in order to give him one last shot at glory.4- DallasNoah Spence DEMost people thought Spence would fall possibly out of round one after his weak combine workout but Jerry Jones has a history of taking chances and drafting players earlier than expected. What Spence was lacking in his workout he more than makes up for with his game tape. The kid is a menace on the edge.5- JacksonvilleJalen Ramsey SPairing Ramsey with Cyprien could turn the Jaguars weak defense around and give them one of the best safety tandems in the NFL for years to come. Ramsey is probably a little stiff in the hips to play corner at the next level. He has great potential as a safety and with his speed he can cover a great amount of space.6- BaltimoreLaquon Treadwell WRBaltimore is desperate for a WR. They have been ever since they made the bone headed move of trading Anquan Bolden. Steve Smith is about done and they have nothing else at the WR position. Treadwell is a smooth glider with outrageous ball skills reminiscent of AJ Green. For the Ravens this is a match made in heaven.7- San FranciscoMyles Jack LBSF has needs everywhere. They take the player who reminds them of Patrick Willis with elite speed at the position. Jack is listed as a LB but he can play a multitude of positions and he has outrageous cover skills. He is a LB that will never come off the field and on top of all that he is a beast running the ball as well, as he was the only player in the history of Pac 10 football to be named the offensive and defensive player of the year as a freshman.8 - MiamiVernon Hargreaves CBMiami had one good CB last year in Grimes and he has been released. They locked up Byron Maxwell in a deal with Philly and need someone to play opposite him. Hargreaves fits here.9- Tampa BayVernon Butler DTTampa desperately needs a pass rush. Vernon Butler allows them great flexibility for their new multiple look defense with his ability to 1 or 2 gap. He is a rare 2 gap player who can get up the field as well as having a great anchor and stack and shed ability to beat double teams and make the tackle. He has outrageous strength and athletic ability for a man his size. 10- New York GiantsJoey Bosa DEThe Giants are in rebuild mode with 6 defensive starters to become free agents. The Giants do what the G-Men normally do and draft a pass rusher in the 1st round. Bosa was once considered the top player in the draft but a lackluster senior season and average combine allow him to drop to the Giants 11- ChicagoJohn Bullard DLChicago needs a lot of help on defense. It all starts up front. Bullard is powerful, quick for his size, and utterly relentless in his pursuit of the ball carrier, or QB. Bullard can play multiple positions in their DL rotation. 12- New OrleansEzekiel Elliot RBSean Payton can't pass on this dynamic playmaker at No. 12. Elliot has great change of direction and vision combined with toughness. He is a rare talent and Payton will be able to get great production out of him and balance out their offense a bit. He is also great catching the ball out of the backfield and a good pass protector. 13- PhiladelphiaJack Conklin OLPhilly needs help in the trenches and Conklin is a tough offensive lineman that probably slides over to guard and starts day one. Conklin shut down some of the best pass rushers in the country including this mocks No.1 pick DeForest Buckner. 14- OaklandWilliam Jackson CBOakland picks up another freaky fast CB to compete with DJ Haden for the starting role opposite Sean Smith. This allows Amerson to play the nickle position where he is much better suited. Jackson is good in run support and a top notch cover corner with great speed and length.15- Los Angeles RamsEli Apple CBThe Rams love Jenkins but he has always been a bit of a gambler at the position, resulting in quite a few unnecessary big plays. Content to lose Jenkins in free agency the Rams reload with a long, lean very fast cover corner. The Rams have drafted so well for the past few years you wonder how they are not contending. 16- DetroitShaq Lawson DEWith 3 of 4 starters on the DL hitting free agency the Lions need to reload the DL. Shaq was easily the most dominating defensive end in college last year and plays with a non-stop motor. 17- AtlantaCarson Wentz QBIn a shocking move the Falcons draft their QB of the future and have the luxury for him to sit a year or two on the bench and learn until Ryan retires. But the truth is the Falcons are ready to move on from Ryan and Wentz has all the tools to be a great NFL QB. He could get on the field sooner rather than later and Ryan's days are now numbered in Atlanta. 18- IndianapolisRonnie Stanley OLThe Colts struggled mightily last year with injuries and obviously need to add starters and depth to their OL. Stanley should be able to start at tackle from day one. He has the length and the feet to play tackle at the next level. 19- BuffaloDerrick Henry RBThe Bills offense just got better by drafting Henry. He will be an impact player who can take some pressure off of Tyrod Taylor. He is a punishing inside runner with surprising moves and very good speed for such a big back. 20- New York JetsA' Shawn Robinson DTThe Jets can use a 2 gapping NT and they get a big fat one here. Robinson is your typical big 2 gapper who eats up blockers and allows others to make plays all around him. 21- WashingtonJosh Doctson WRWashington is very thin at WR. DeSean Jackson was a major disappointment last year and their best option last year was a TE. This is a no brainer. Doctson is a very smooth route runner with good size and great hands. 22- HoustonWill Fuller WRFuller is a legit deep threat who will open up the underneath passing game and take some of the load off of DeAndre Hopkins. Not many corners can run with Fuller and this will force teams to slide a safety his way...... or do they slide the safety to Hopkins? This will be a major dilemna for all of the defenses the Texans play against and will limit their aggressiveness. This is a great fit for the Texans and is their best chance of improving their team in a hurry. 23 - MinnesotaKendall Fuller CBFuller is a big time playmaker who makes the Vikings defense better immediately. He is effective in coverage, fantastic blitzing off the edge and he has great ball skills. 24- CincinattiKevin Dodd DEZimmer's former team snags the player Zimmer would have loved to pick. Cincinatti loves long, high motor defensive linemen. They will get the most out of Dodd. Dodd is a great run stuffer and can get after the QB. Perfect fit for the Bengals DL rotation. 25- PittsburghTaylor Decker OLPittsburgh has a crappy OL. Decker should help. He has good length and plenty of toughness.26- SeattleDarron Lee LBSeattle loves super fast LB's. Lee will be outstanding in that defense. He excels in coverage and Seattle will find the perfect use for him, as Pete Carroll always does.27 - Green BayReggie Ragland LBWith the Packers moving Clay Matthews back outside next year they are getting a heavy hitting sideline to sideline MLB will help them out greatly. Ragland is regarded as the top MLB in the draft and will step right in and help the Packers get their defense back on track after a down year.28- Kansas CityMackensie Alexander CBThe Chiefs need to replace Sean Smith and this is the logical choice. Alexander has shut down corner ability and is only lacking ideal size.29- ArizonaShon Coleman OLWith 3 OL up for free agency KC reloads with a player who will be well suited playing one of the guard spots. Coleman is a powerful blocker and good at reaching second level blocks but probably a tad slow of the feet to play tackle.30- CarolinaDarien Thompson SWith Harper up for free agency the Panthers pick up a ball hawking safety who is also great coming down into the box. Thompson puts together highlight reel plays every time he steps on the field. He has great intincts and is a great tackler as well.31- DenverGermain Ifedi OLLikely to lose Evan Mathis in free agency the Broncos go for an upgrade in the powerful Ifedi who has all the tools to be a great interior lineman. I dont think he is nimble enough to play tackle but he will be a solid OG for years to come.
