1- Myles Jack LB UCLA 6'1" 245The most versatile player in the draft falls into the Bucs lap at pick No.9. The addition of Myles Jack paired with Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David allows the Buccaneers to play out of their base defense a vast majority of the time, as Myles Jack can play nickle corner. Jack is well suited to cover slot WRs and TEs, or RBs out of the backfield. Jack provides instant relief to a defense burned by the quick slant all last year. He overpowers his opponent physically with a hard bump at the LOS and tracks down bubble screens and pitches to his side of the field with precision. His physical nature is evident at the point of contact. His combination of instincts, smarts, and his brute strength allows the defense to line him up in virtually any position. He is a true Jack of all trades on the defensive side of the ball.Honorable Mention: Noah Spence DE2- William Jackson CB Houston 6'1" 195You have to be thrilled when your highest rated player is available at CB in round two. Jackson is a hard hitter and very active in run support. He has good ball awareness and ball skills. He tracks the ball like a WR and can make the play. He has good cover skills and is also good in zone coverage.Honorable mention: Darian Thompson FS3- De Runya Wilson WR Miss St. 6'4" 215Wilson is a big bodied WR that has a good catch radius and can high point the ball very well. Wilson is tough enough to go over the middle and is very proficient at hauling in the deep ball. This is the player who will replace Vincent Jackson on the roster and gives us another legitimate deep threat alongside Mike Evans.4- Le Raven Clark OL Texas Tech 6'5" 316 Clark is a big man who can move very well, but will probably be playing guard at the NFL level. He would fit in nicely at left guard if Mankins retires, but is really drafted for depth here as we have been developing Pamphile for a few years and I believe he is ready to step in and start at LG. Drafting another talented guard will allow the Bucs to part ways with Evan Smith and his high salary and provides us with good competition for Pamphile and depth for the future.5- Deon Bush FS Miami 6'1" 200Bush is a big, rangy, hard hitting safety. He projects as a special teams contributor and developmental safety. He makes your special tems better immediately with his reckless style of play. He replaces Major Wright on the roster.6- Devon Johnson FB Marshall 6'1" 243The Bucs are drafting Johnson to be the next FB and special teams contributor. He is quite capable as a runner and can be used in goal line or short yardage situations running the ball, although he is most likely a developmental special teamer in year one. Replaces Javorskie Lane.6- Keenan Reynolds RB Navy 5'11" 195Reynolds was a college QB who is the all time NCAA rushing leader for a QB. He was basically an option QB who ran the ball more than he threw it. He can be the wildcat player if needed and could be a possibility returning kicks. He is a smooth runner with nice cut moves. He is a special teams contributor and backup RB replacing Bobby Rainey on the roster. The surprising thing is that we did not draft a DE, or edge rusher of any kind. The bottom line is that the DEs who were available when we are picking in rounds one and two did not project to be impact players. We draft impact players at LB and CB who can provide you with tight coverage at the LOS and allow your DL to get more coverage sacks. We could find ourselves in this situation where we have to choose between a player who we think is BPA, or a player who is ok, but at a position of need. I hope if this is the case we draft the player who we think is BPA. The whole point is to make your football team better. Drafting a player who is no better than Will Gholston in round one just because you need a RDE would be a mistake.
