Roger Goodell makes $44.2 million in last yearPosted by Darin Gantt on February 14, 2014, 3:07 PM ESTRoger GoodellAPThe NFL continues making money at ridiculous rates, so it stands to reason they’d spread it around.According to Daniel Kaplan of Sports Business Daily, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell made $44.2 million in the 12-month span that ended March 31, 2013.That includes $9.1 million in deferred pension and bonus earned the previous year. This time a year ago, Goodell’s compensation nearing $30 million caused much grumbling, since he hadn’t made more than $11.5 million in a season before the lockout.Of course, since then, the league keeps signing new labor deals and television deals that clearly favor the business, and his bosses clearly appreciate it.Owners Arthur Blank, Robert Kraft and Jerry Richardson wrote in a letter to their fellow owners that is scheduled to be emailed this afternoon, which reads: “Goodell’s compensation reflects our pay-for-performance philosophy and is appropriate given the fact that the NFL under his consistently strong leadership continues to grow.”And so does Goodell’s wallet.
When they're passing rules to protect your sb winning qb, you better like him.
Maybe when teams need a bailout when they can't sell their first round playoff game tickets... they should call Goodell.
Jesus christ does this guy actually even have a hard job?
Works for 32 bilionaires... Good for him.
NFL greed sounds like it is on par with our leaders in Washington. We are such gullible fools. SMH
I'm sure no one else could have accomplished the same results for $20 million per year.

Agreed^^^^^^We are such fools. The NFL shlts on its customer base unlike any business out there, yet we still pay our hundreds of bucks each Sunday to watch (from a blimp, basically) grown men bang each other.
Stack up that dough Goodell,.

At least the players have the excuse if one team wasn't going to give them a certain amount of money, another team would, to justify it. What other sports league is going to pay Goodell that?

That is the actual beauty of free agency. What sucks is Goodell is nothing but a fat cat. Unlike players, he's not the one getting the crap beat outta him and risking long term injury like we are seeing with so many ex-players. To me, Players earn their check.........Goodell does not. He's on the 'exploiting' end of things.
His compensation is what the 32 owners deem it to be.Do your thing Roger, do your thing!
Jesus christ does this guy actually even have a hard job?
The guy runs a multi-billion dollar business.....don't HATE!!!
