The offense may take a small step back though.
and again injuries are a big wildcard, but we are deeper
Last season we beat Washington, Philly, and Detroit. The season before we beat Philly and the Packers. Tampa should be the favorite to win the NFC this season. Mainly because Tampa never loses to the Eagles.
@theknees - only some in Tampa would feel we should be the favorites. Although I think we still matchup well against the Eagles. I’m pretty sure the Lions, Rams, 49ers, and now the Commanders, would be favorites against us.

Objectively, I am not sure how. I never give the Buc's the benefit of the doubt but this team is built to win it all. If anyone thinks Saquan won't take a step back I would encourage them to study a little football history.
Tampa needs to learn how to close out teams. I think they have the team now to do that.
CBS suggests the Bucs show Trask the door for..
"
Will Levis to the Buccaneers
Tampa Bay has been fine riding with Kyle Trask at the No. 2 quarterback spot, but do the Bucs really want to risk falling out of a feasible NFC South race if the always-gutsy Baker Mayfield goes down? Levis is expendable in Tennessee after the Titansdrafted Cam Ward, and he seems like a perfect fit to sit and learn from Mayfield, who shares some of his never-say-die spunk"
Trask wanted to stay with the Bucs and the Bucs wanted him so the Bucs roll with him. They trust Trask to know the offense and be familiar with player personnel.
Levis is a waste of time.
Eagles and Lions are the class of the conference.
Tier after that is most likely Washington.
Then you have a number of teams lumped together (TB, MINN, GB, LA).
Not sold on SF. Think the end is near for them.
Yes but I don't think we can win the NFC with this roster. Licht had the chance to flood OLB room with guys with great pass rush traits and didn't.
Mike Greene was a missed opportunity.

I'd rather have Trask

Washington will regress. A year of tape on Daniels... I won't be shocked if he gets hurt.
A lot will depend on injuries. Fully healthy this team can compete at the top of the NFC. I still don't think the depth is as good as the top few, especially on defense. They had a good draft and you can't fill all your holes/weaknesses, but there are still some.
LB play obviously will be sub par. Safety is one injury one away from below average to bad play. There's really no proven safety depth. CB we will see. NT one Vea injury away from Gaines starting with poor depth. Couple spots I'd be worried about on offense too. OL the interior depth looks okay. No OT depth after losing Skule. TE is one Otton injury away from Payne Durham starting (I don't hate him as a TE3 but not a T2). Our TE depth would be amongst the worst in the league.
If I'm Licht I'm looking at the market for a couple of vets at the spots I've mentioned. Lots of flowers going around after the draft and they did do a good job but we have to be realistic the roster still has significant depth holes in certain areas.
I think this roster could be potentially one more draft and a good FA period (with clean books and less dead cap) away from a serious SB run. Hopefully I'm wrong on that assessment and this is the year they make a run.
Maybe, but they did land another tackle and heard he’s a heck of a pass/blocker tackle who’s pretty good at run blocking too, they pair him with tackle Laremy Tunsil, they brought in in a trade with the Texans - they also brought in Debo Samuel. So, I’m pretty sure they found some protection for Jayden Daniels. If he regresses, it will likely be because they start screwing with his game - trying to introduce more stay-in-the-pocket passing concepts - but I think they’re smarter than that.Eagles and Lions are the class of the conference.

They had a decent draft - T Connerly, CB Trey Amos, WR Jaylin Laine, etc, etc.
They weren’t sleeping - but I think our draft was better.
The talent is there to be top 5 in the conference. The in-game coaching though will cost us games and probably be a 9 win team.

Coen is gone now. Give Grizzard a chance before you assume he'll make the same mistakes as Coen.
