Bucs fans owe Brady a lot. We don't owe him to ignore his performance in 2022, although you seem to think we do.
This is where you are completely full of spit.
DURING THE SEASON I posted that Brady's play was part of the problem and even posted an analytics article that was making the case that he was dumping the ball off very quickly, never allowing the play to develop to the offenses deeper routes
By comparison, youre on here NOW suggesting that re-signing Anthony Nelson means Licht think the Bucs can with more WITHOUT Brady lol. You're the one with the visceral hatred seeping in AFTER THE GUY IS FREAKING RETIRED . . multiple post as The Amazing Kresken reading minds at OBP to conform with your own beliefs, coming up with that bullspit that Dalton was better . . WHEN COMPARED TO EXPECTATIONS . . .
You'd think Brady kicked your dog or something
:-)
The Brady experience was awesome. We won a Super Bowl, made playoffs all 3 years. Last year was a disappointment but a first round playoff ass kicking is all we could have dreamed of in the decade preceding Brady
Yeah he wasn’t mvp caliber last year and quite frankly sucked for Brady standards but still we would have lost 3 other games without him. The numbers he put up last year apparently gets you 40 million per year if Daniel jones contract is any indication
youngry

Here's where I'm coming from. It's not hating Brady, but I think the team from Licht on down to the water boy was consciously or unconsciously frustrated with the 2023 Brady soap opera, how it was affecting the team, and how his skills seemed to be deteriorating, and how his lack of mobility and quick trigger was limiting what the offense could do and Leftwich was taking the heat for that. Maybe they weren't happy about the fate of Leftwich?
The team underperformed, and they all deserve the blame. Leftwich couldn't find a solution, so he deserved to be fired for that. But at the end of the season, what was the feeling of this team? Well if Licht's moves are any indication the team is ready to prove that they are a better team than what they showed. If Licht thought they would be as bad or worse in 2023, he wouldn't be bringing all these players back just desperately grasping at straws, trying to struggle to a 6-11. Give him more credit than that. He believes in this team he put together, or he wouldn't be keeping them together. Furthermore, he has to have a pulse of the team. He has to know what Lavonte David thinks, what Mike Evans thinks, Vea, Wirfs, Winfield. Licht is talking to these players after the season. That has to factor heavily into what Licht is doing. They're telling him "We're better than this." Licht could have made moves to start transitioning and retooling, whatever you want to call it. He didn't. He's doubling down.
The Bucs are ready to show that they are a better team than what they showed last year, which means they think they'll be better with Mayfield than they were with Brady. That's the message Licht is getting from his players, because that's the message Licht is sending with his personnel moves this offseason. Licht believes it. Bowles believe it. The players believe it. I think you'll see a fired up team next year with a lot to prove.
That's what the Bucs believe. Whether that's really true is another story. That's why they play the games.
Yeah I like the optimistic view but more non Bucs fan view mayfield similar to trubisky with the Steelers….essentially starting the season as starter and at 2-5 Bucs decide to go with trask resulting in a 4,5 win season
i hope I’m wrong and our Bucs make playoffs again. I really do but odds are that mayfield who is on his 4th team in less than 12 months doesn’t figure shit out

man lol thats hilarious but the premise (in bold) is where I think you're missing the mark
doubling down? By having players restructure or by signing Greg Gaines? Anthony Nelson? lol.
In other words, you're painting things like they are either/or, all or nothing ("dont sign Dean because the plan is rebuild") and then you take that flawed premise to turn it into this WHOPPER of a mind-reading conclusion, just dripping with the Brady "hate:"
"they think they'll be better with Mayfield than they were with Brady. "

if you read your last post above, you're saying, in essence, that based on offseason personnel moves so far, the Bucs think that Brady dragged them down to 8-9 last year
Lol, are you Byron Leftwich?
if we are all playing mind reader, Licht thinks they pieced together a last ditch effort when Brady came back BUT with a team that was changed (no Gronk, no Marpet, no AB) and getting old (Lenny) and injured (Godwin then Jensen) and with a makeshift coaching staff.
They tried, it failed. Brady was NOT superhero Brady, but for sure he was a TOP flight QB. The team around him was NOT topflight. Licht isnt "doubling down" he is CONTINUING the re-shuffle. He has moved on from the teams LT and its RB and let FAs go (Edwards) and traded starters (Mason) and plugged in one year guys (even David is on a $7 Million one year?). How that becomes "doubling down" is beyond me lol.
That's what the Bucs believe.
I see you’ve learned you lesson, Professor.
It's not hating Brady,
Clearly...
and how his skills seemed to be deteriorating,
Lolz...
and how his lack of mobility and quick trigger was limiting what the offense could do and Leftwich was taking the heat for that.
Or...hear me out...Leftwich was taking heat for...again, hear me out...being the most unimaginative, least creative OC in the league.
By the way, have you seen the stampede of pro and collegiate programs beating down his door to acquire his services?
I mean, if it was Brady that limited the offense, surely Lefty would have zero issues finding a job. Right?
If Licht thought they would be as bad or worse in 2023, he wouldn't be bringing all these players back just desperately grasping at straws, trying to struggle to a 6-11.
Or...again, hear me out...he may feel like conducting business as if his job's on the line?

That's essentially what he's been implying all along (lump him in with the other 2 morons echoing the same thing).
Hence, his comment that is easily the front-runner for "Dumbest Poster of the Year" regarding "Brady is no better than Dalton". LOL!
Lol, are you Byron Leftwich?
Considering how dumb Lefty is, this might be a fair observation.
So, you guys think I'm wrong. You think that Licht saw the Bucs go 8-9, then he loses Tom Brady, and then he brings back essentially the same players for what reason? To get worse? So they can go 5-12? Just so he can save face with his draft picks? Just because he's not very bright? Come on. Why is a team who basically tanked a season with a star QB, then they lose the QB and keep the same core and many of the depth players as well? You have no logical explanation. You say Licht is making some kind of incremental changes because they cast off an aging Brate, a couple backups and a few one-year players like Rudolph? Well again, Biggs, congrats for explaining what every NFL team in the history of the league has done every year. At the end of the day I'll bet the Bucs retained about the same or more players this year than either of the two years when they "ran it back" with Brady. Explain why that is.
The reason that the Bucs went 8-9 in 2022 is because there was not a single player or coach who improved from 2021 to 2022. In fact, most of the players regressed, and the injury/retirement/traded replacements were worse than the players they replaced. There is plenty of blame to go all around.

the 2023 bucs roster currently are not more talented than the 2022 bucs. Let’s remove the QB discussion as that’s your argument here
now i will admit he’s done a great job keeping the nucleus together and we still have the draft but currently…
RB - currently worse room without fournette
WR - solid. Kept top 3 guys and Julio was not factor last year
TE - the Vets he let walk were not factors but this is not strength position for us
offensive line - currently worse but admit don smith should be easily replaced. What about mason? If Jensen is healthy, this should be a boost but let’s see who we get at OT
defensive line - no hicks or Gholston. Currently much worse
linebackers/edge - I mean same group returning which is good and bad. Could use another edge to replace JTR
secondary - Dean is part of the rebuild. Need to replace SMB and edwards
so this notion that we are “re tooling” for a playoff run has yet to be seen. We are currently worse off than last year but I’ll admit I thought it could be much worse and we were able to keep slot of good players as well as add mayfield, a move I like but as I said before odds are probably 70% he is a bridge to trask and we win 5 games next year and 30% he figures shit out and leads us to playoffs. Not bad odds but they may fluctuate drastically once we hit October
Why is a team who basically tanked a season with a star QB
How can somebody actually post this?
because he's not very bright
Oh..that explains it.
