Well again, Biggs, congrats for explaining what every NFL team in the history of the league has done every year.
You’re welcome. After spending post after post after post telling everyone how players under contract (DSmith, Fournette, Mason, etc.) were going to be back - because contracts are facts and you’re just the messenger - I’m glad it’s finally hit home for your dumbass, Professor. It’s not my fault your eyes have only recently been opened as to how the league works. I tried to warn you.
At the end of the day I'll bet the Bucs retained about the same or more players this year than either of the two years when they "ran it back" with Brady. Explain why that is.
Considering the team retained every starter in 2021 after 2020, you’re already wrong. This team is down multiple starters on offense and defense from the 2022 team.
Why do you insist upon posting verifiably wrong and stupid things?
This isn't complicated. Licht is doing the best he can with the situation before him.
He isn't going to implode the team.
The last 2 years he's been putrid in FA and draft but SO FAR this FA I think he's actually done a solid job.
As far as all the Brady stuff I just think it's a multitude of factors... but the biggest factor is we had an ATROCIOUS offensive coordinator.
And that's it... and everyone was frustrated... and we never adjusted.
And Bowles is too conservative.
The team lacked an identity in both scheme and talent.
You don't go out and sign Gage/Julio but decide to be a run first team behind a fat ass Fournette.
It was like nobody was communicating.
Shaq Mason is a pass pro guard, but not a run mauler
So what was the team's identity other than giving our punter a work out?
I have no idea how anyone posts with a straight face that Licht is trying to put the same team on the field
The 2022 team wasn’t even the same team lol and the changes continue

I thought the 2021 offseason was pretty solid. He brought back all the starters and we had a franchise best season. The issue there was the draft where he picked a back up QB and kick returner with 2 of the top 4 picks. Godwin going down and AB going insane was a reason we lost that year. Perhaps if we have better draft picks, we win an extra game, get #1 seed and wirfs doesn’t go down.
The 2022 offseason wasn’t good. I agree. But also a bunch of bad omens right from the start from Arians, Marpet, and gronk retirements to Brady retirement, rumors and issues. Jensen going down in training camp. Just had bad vibes all over it before a snap was taken.
this offseason has been great so far, especially with the expectations of us having to start over. I don’t think we are a playoff team but likely similar to 2016-2019 where there is hope
By "tanked" I mean we went into the tank, not that they purposely tanked. Why is a team who basically tanked a season with a star QB
How can somebody actually post this?
because he's not very bright
Oh..that explains it.

That's funny right there. I don't care who you are. (In my best Larry the Cable Guy imitation).

which nobody saw coming. There was some bad vibes in the off-season which mean we would see a drop off from the 13-4 season, but i think most were expecting an 11-6 type showing and not an 8-9 type showing which took some luck and Brady heroics to win. This team was so close to winning 4-5 games last year and played poorly. Nobody saw that type of drop off coming and anyone who claims they did are delusional liars.
The team started 2-0 and while the offense was not great, there was alot of reason for optimism. Back tp back tough losses against Packers and Chiefs and still we thought this team could bounce back.
Where i lost hope was after the unaspiring Falcons win in which we almost blew. I knew something was up then. Then of course, the lockerroom was lost after back to back Pitt and Panthers losses.
Bowles will need Mayfield to really do something that QBs bust rarely do and become something. I think Tampa has the weapons for him to succeed. Running game looks weak and that i something he relied heavy on in Cleveland.
Nobody predicted 8-9. But there were question marks such as the poorly timed Arians resignation and the Brady hiatus, which was pre-planned but still a mystery. While some like Bowles tried to say it was not a big deal and wouldn't impact the team, others such as TKraz were saying yeah it is a big deal when you don't have your starting QB in training camp. Nobody went so far as to predict the downfall of the team, but there were concerns from the beginning. Something was off.By "tanked" I mean we went into the tank, not that they purposely tanked. Why is a team who basically tanked a season with a star QB

well yeah only the homer of homers wouldn’t have recognized that - Arians, Marpet, gronk taking so long to retire, Brady, divorce, Jensen injury
underrating Arians presence of play calling, players not respecting Bowles, etc
I still thought our floor was 11 wins
and it was just the way we won some games - falcons, cardinals, rams, and saints that was very underwhelming
We couldn’t score aside from a couple games. Didn’t see the offensive having a 2 touchdown per game drop!
Lefty regressed as a play caller and that was magnified with key players missing or hurt or underperforming.
But I don't think Lefty was ever an elite play caller but the 2nd half of the 2022 season featured some duds.
Saints shutout, road Washington loss, Jets miracle comeback, 2nd half of the eagles blowout, first 2.5 quarters of the Rams playoff loss...
Take out the 2 Panthers wins at the end of the season and the offense was sputtering going into the playoffs.
All of that became magnified with Arians gone and Marpet/Gronk retiring, AB going nuts etc.

I agree which is why with Canales I see the team being more balanced on offense. Mayfield operate the best IMO from a balanced approach or even need be a run heavy offense with occasional shots downfield.

Balanced offense is great, but the QB still has to be able to throw the ball to the wide receivers, something Mayfield had trouble doing with OBJ. It worries me that he couldn't figure out how to get the ball to OBJ. I need to know why that is. We have two guys on our team who need to get the ball, and can Mayfield do that? Mayfield is going to have to show some acceptable level of accuracy in the preseason or he will lose the job to Trask.

Kyle Trask? You mean the Kyle Trask who had a 68% completion rate in college and a 10yd per attempt average, while playing in the SEC? That Kyle Trask? The Kyle Trask a lot of people on this board don't think has a chance to be a successful starter in the NFL? That Kyle Trask? Surely, you jest.

"A lot of people on this board". How many is a lot? Three? Well those three people know about the same as me or anybody else which is next to nothing. We're all entitled to our uneducated opinions. I think Trask will be a serviceable starting QB once he has a chance to work with some starting caliber wide receivers who are taller than 5'10", but that's just my gut feeling. If he busts out you can come on here and say I'm wrong about Kyle Trask if it makes you happy.
Dude, you misread my post. I'm with you. Based on how he played in college, in a real good conference, I believe he'll be a good QB in the NFL. Time will tell. And there's more than 3 on this board who believe the opposite.
