If you want to say I have an anti-Brady bias, then it's an anti-Brady 2022 bias. Anti not just Brady, but the whole Brady show, including Brady but not just him. Firstly, Brady was not Tom Brady in 2022. Secondly, Leftwich had no ability to make any adjustments to account for Brady's limitations. Apparently he didn't even make the adjustments Bowles wanted him to make, and he was fired. Thirdly, and maybe most importantly, I think the whole team was just over the Brady hype, the Brady show. They just didn't see where it was going. The team no longer believed that Brady could will them to victory. If you think I have something against Brady in general I have no idea why you would think that. I have never said anything against Brady except in reference to 2022 and a hypothetical 2023.Signing our own free agents (like Anthony Nelson) = Licht bringing back the team because he thinks Brady held them back.
very well thought out
zero anti-Brady bias seeping in
The main difference between me and some other posters is that they think that Brady was somehow holding things together in 2022 like the kid putting his finger in the dyke. If it wasn't for him the Bucs would have sunk to 4-13 or something. I don't believe that. I think if we had for instance Andy Dalton we wouldn't have been any worse. So that's a difference of opinion about Brady 2022 between me and many others, but it's only about Brady 2022. If you think I have something against Brady in general you are incorrect and frankly disingenuous because you know this.
LMAO. You've gone all the way from "I am not bias against Brady" to "yes, I am bias but only as to 2022 Brady." I mean, these discussions are really only about 2022 Brady so I have no idea why you'd even make that kind of distinction, but whatever the point is that a rational human being only suggests "Licht bringing back the team because he thinks Brady held them back" if you're filtering todays events through the belief that Brady was THE problem in 2022 . . a belief you keep highlighting with posts like this:
"no ability to make any adjustments to account for Brady's limitations." (as opposed to no O-line or running game)
"I think the whole team was just over the Brady hype, the Brady show" (projecting)
and you post stuff like that and the hilarious Andy Dalton thing OVER and OVER . . always TOPPING IT OFF WITH MIND READING (that just happens to fit with your belief):
"They just didn't see where it was going. The team no longer believed that Brady could will them to victory. "
the answer is usually somewhere in the middle
it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to be non bias and admit Brady took a step back last year. Hell, if he didn’t think so himself, he likely wouldn’t have retired
But ask yourself this. If baker or trask put up 25 touchdowns to 9 INTs and 4600 yards in 2023; we are damn near signing them to a long term deal
Brady was bad for Brady status for sure, but we would be lucky to replicate that shit performance in 2023. That’s the component you are missing
hope you are right and we are a playoff team with baker/trask but I think you are inflating their floor versus ceilings performance
You seem to enjoy misquoting me. First you say I'm biased, then I say if I'm biased then it's only for 2022, then you say I admit I'm biased and misquote me using a quote you can see in the very same post. I don't know what that even means when it comes to football players playing football. Why would I have a bias against any of them? I don't even understand what you are accusing me of. Do I know Tom Brady personally? Now, some people had a bias for or against Jameis Winston because he was from FSU, so I guess it's possible to have a bias, but I didn't understand that either. I thought it was ridiculous. Anyway, I'm actually a fan of the Wolverines because I have Michigan ties.
I'm a fan of Brady. He won us a Superbowl. He won it. He wasn't just along for the ride. He was the leader of the team who won the Superbowl. He gets the credit, deservedly so. In 2022 he was the leader of an offense that frankly stunk it up. He doesn't get a pass, because if he gets a pass, that puts it all on the rest of the team. Like I said, some people think he's the little dutch boy with his finger in the dike. How do you think the rest of the team feels about that perspective? I don't know, but I wouldn't think they would be happy about it.

Lol . . .okay
Look, I am just commenting on your overall theme which WAS (paraphrasing here lol) that Licht is getting the team back together in 2023 so that must mean HE THINKS the team was good enough to win it all BUT FOR Brady lol
You can run from that all you want, its not that big a deal. Humorous but whatever.
By the way, Buggsy is easily the most dishonest poster here here often selectively quoting things in edited from, but your quote that he used was RIGHT HERE ON THE BOARD, very easy to find and you still said (paraphrasing again lol) "hmm . . maybe I said that I don't recall"
:-)
Yes, the Bucs DO need to get younger!

I said they would have been just as good with another average "garden variety" QB in 2022. Still not backtracking. How many more times do I have to say it?

you have suggested that their keeping players this off-season from the prior roster indicated that Licht thinks the team wins it all last year without Brady

Wow, what? You're a funny guy.
In your mind, will Bucs top last years win loss record?
Yes
and what makes you say that?
easier schedule?
better talent?
better coaching?
better QB play?

take QB out of it and anyone can see that the depth on this roster is significantly worse than 2022
sure our losses are replaceable but as of March 29th, I have not seen the replacements except from penciled in guys currently on the rosette and that’s telling to us “biting the bullet”. Sure let’s just pencil in Luke G at tackle and act like it won’t be just as abortion that don smith was if not worse. Let’s act like Edmonds isn’t a drop off from Lenny. Let’s act like loosing Shaq mason or A. Hicks isn’t a loss. Or that Edwards and SMB weren’t solid roster players.
Can Logan Hall be a player? Way too many questions and nothing from management other than trying to field a 53 man roster by including voidable years would suggest to me that they are “trying”. Surely they aren’t purposefully thanking but we are projected to have a top 5 pick for a reason

OK Headshaker,The Bucs scored 18.4 points per game, 25th in the league. The lowest was 16.9. So they were 1.5 points away from the worst in the league. Tennessee, Jets, Houston, Indianapolis and Denver were worse. Who were the QBs on those teams last year? Bottom of the barrel. OK, given that the OC was Leftwich, how many points per game would the Bucs have scored with my "garden variety" QB in your opinion?
OK, given that the OC was Leftwich, how many points per game would the Bucs have scored with my "garden variety" QB in your opinion?
Less.
They would’ve scored less.
It would’ve been the 32nd ranked scoring offense, and probably by a 2.5-3 point margin.
And, they would’ve lost more games.
Now, I’ll ask you this.
We have new OC and a completely different scheme, one that should be fairly creative and QB/WR friendly.
Who would lead a higher scoring offense under this system?
Brady or Mayfield/Trask/Dalton(lol)?
