Catching Up on Pre-Draft Visits For the Tampa Bay BuccaneersBy Matt Tidcombe - Apr 20th, 2014 at 5:12 pm Rice cornerback Phillip GainesTim Heitman-USA TODAY SportsWe’ve previously reported that quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, Derek Carr, Garrett Gilbert, and Jimmy Garoppolo have all made pre-draft visits with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ahead of the 2014 NFL draft. Florida State running back James Wilder Jr. has also stopped by One Buc Place and the Bucs also recently hosted 26 local prospects. However, they haven’t been the only players who have stopped by. The following list highlights the other players that the Bucs have brought in to get a closer look at: •Iowa tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz •Auburn outside linebacker Dee Ford •Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller •Rice cornerback Phillip Gaines •Purdue offensive tackle Kevin Pamphile •North Dakota State offensive tackle Billy Turner •Bloomsburg (Pa.) defensive end Larry Webster Teams are allowed to bring in a maximum of 30 players (excluding local prospects) for pre-draft visits. By my count, the Bucs have hosted 13 players, meaning they can still bring 17 more players in for a visit if they so choose. It’s hard to analyze exactly what the pre-draft visit mean, but it can give you somewhat of an idea at what the front office could be thinking. The fact that five quarterbacks have visited seems to suggest the Bucs have a lot of interest in drafting a QB next month. It’s also of note that a few offensive lineman and cornerbacks have visited too. Whether the Bucs bring in any more players for visits remains to be seen, but if they do, you’ll hear about it on The Pewter Plank. http://thepewterplank.com/2014/04/20/catching-pre-draft-visits-tampa-bay-buccaneers/
