"He Really Envisioned Me Being in Tampa"Justin Pawlowski CommishOnlineApr 15, 2015 Utah edge rusher Nate Orchard shares how he is receiving some extra love from Lovie Smith in Tampa. The Buccaneers are actively looking to improve their pass rush. On Tuesday, they officially acquired DE George Johnson from the Lions. It appears the Bucs might not be done upgrading at defensive end there. The Bucs have already had a private workout with Utah edge rusher Nate Orchard last month, and last week they had him in for a visit. According to Nate Orchard's diary on USA Today, Lovie Smith was showing Orchard some very close attention."It was really good in Tampa, too. I had a chance to talk with Coach Lovie Smith. He was amazing, and also very complimentary of my past and how I've handled it. And he's excited by me as a player. He really envisioned me being in Tampa with the team, fitting in the defensive scheme. I met the entire staff there, had a tour of the facility."Orchard is projected as a 2nd round pick. He ended 2014 with 18.5 sacks. He is purely an edge rusher. There are some concerns about Orchard against the run in the NFL, but he does have a knack for getting to the quarterback.
