5 of the last 6 Super Bowl winning HC's were offensive-minded.

OP wish list are defensive-minded dinosaurs.

Good stuff as usual.

I dunno guys.  Ill stick with Bowles for now.  I mean Bill B is trash... The proof is in the pudding guys.  Bill B without TB12= Trash,  Bill B WITH TB12=genius????  Im pretty good at math, and I think the real genius variable there is TB12.  Thats just simple math and logic.  Pete Carroll could be an option.  Maybe he comes in as OC and Canales focuses 100% on developing Baker AND Trask while also learning more and more from Carroll and his shiny rings.  Vrabel is a defensive guy.  Do we have a real DC or do we just have one in name but, Bowles is wearing that hat.  Id be down for Vrabel as DC to free up Bowles to wear just HC hat.  Whoever is our DC in name is also spread too thinly, focus on your main role- Oline or RB coach or whatever, focus on them wear THAT HAT.  Harbaugh is Ballsy, he punched the Bills QB in the face during halftime I think (Or was it his brother, either way, that stuff is in peoples bloodline, Chucky used to say it as well).  I think he could help JL weed out draft prospects.  JL picks people first, then football players second, then talent 3rd.  Harbaugh can help with that part I think.  Anyhoo.  Im out Bishes.

The Bucs situation is unique to the Bucs. It's not time to bring in a new offense after only one year.  We need to have patience, add some pieces and see how the things can develop under Canales.  So why bring in an offensive coach?  Bring in a defensive minded coach who can take over for Bowles - somebody who will immediately garner respect from the veterans and be able to build on what we already have there with Winfield, Vea, Kancey and Diaby.  The Bucs don't need a new offense.  If they want to move on from Bowles they'll need a defensive coach to replace him.  The Bucs aren't a team that needs someone to come in and overhaul the entire system from top to bottom.

As for Carroll or Belichick, at this stage of their career maybe they don't want to start from scratch.  Maybe, like Arians, they'll want to step into a situation where they don't have to shop for the groceries anymore and they can just coach.  Both of those guys still have the energy and love of coaching.  I'm sure I'm not the only Bucs fan would be excited to see either one of them coaching the Bucs next year.

When Bruce Arians came here he came into a similar situation.  The Bucs weren't the worst team in the league, but neither were they a Superbowl ready roster.  Nobody was saying we're just a coach away from the Superbowl when they fired Dirk Koetter.  People were pretty surprised that Arians wanted to come out of retirement to coach here.

The most likely scenario by far is that Todd Bowles will be coaching the team next year.  I'd put it at about 25% chance the Bucs fire him. But if they move on from Bowles that doesn't mean they're moving on from Canales.  I think the most likely scenario is to hire an experienced defensive coach and keep Canales.

That's huge because Brown could carve up the Bucs DBs or any team's DBs for that matter.

He's not coming here, but this ^^ is another reason he probably would not.

His legacy is already in question (by some) because of the Patriots drop off AFTER Brady's departure (especially with Brady winning another one), so why would he want to highlight that comparison against by coming to the Bucs where he could only silence the critics by winning his own Super Bowl?

I think he retires or maybe the Falcons?  not sure

There are rumblings that Mike Tomlin may be considering leaving Pittsburgh. I think he'd be a good fit here with Canales staying at OC. Tomlin was here in Tampa as an assistant many moons ago.
