Sad days like this lead to deep thinking.

If this team is as bad as it looks after yet another disgusting road loss, Dirk is out the door.
Who's next?

The strength of the team is the offense with all the weapons we have, so I would think an offensive minded coach would be best.

Who are the top offensive coordinators out there? The Chiefs OC is in his first year at the position, probably too early for consideration.
The Rams have an OC by committee (passing OC/running OC) and both are in their first years as well.
Josh McDaniels could be worth a look, but let's not forget how quickly he failed his way out of Denver when he had the opportunity there.

What about Bruce Arians?

I know he 'retired' this season but let's look at it for what it is.
Carson Palmer retired, Larry Fitz is about toast. The cardinals got rid of Calais Campbell, and clearly were headed for a rough stretch and a rebuild, as evidenced by their 0-4 start this season.

Arians didn't retire because he wants to stop coaching or isn't healthy enough to handle it. He retired because the Cardinals weren't worth staying with.

We've seen coaches come out of 'retirement' many times before. Arians will say how he couldn't help but take the opportunity.

He has been very outspoken about his confidence in Jameis Winston. He has always been an exceptional offensive mind - especially in the passing game. With our weaponry, Arians could rewrite the history books with the production this offense is capable of.

He already has his DC in house with Brentson Buckner.

I believe Bruce Arians could have a similar impact on this team that Jim Harbaugh had on the 49ers, or more recently Sean McVay with the Rams.

Arians has had a great coaching career all in all, but if he comes to Tampa and gets us amother Lombardi, he will cement his legacy as a future HOF coach.
