For all of the Tampa natives... Why are these home games filled with snow birds from the NE?
I'm sure many of them have second homes in Florida but it's crazy to me how we lose home field to half our home games because the visitors show out.
I know this isn't Ohio, but my god... The beaches are great so I'm sure there's added reasons for people to watch games in Tampa but it's maddening for me.
You never see this shit in the PNW. (Maybe because of the rain)
Did you go to the game?
Why are these home games filled with snow birds from the NE?
It was pretty rough lots of Commander fans
Between people who live here but still retain their allegiance to their original team and fans who took the quick flight or long drive down, it was almost an away game at times.

So lame

I was surprised even though it used to be the norm for regular season games in the old Tampa Stadium creamsicle days
Yes, I would imagine it is still an event for corporate clients. Many hold blocks of seats and gift/sell them at game time.
As has been mentioned, Florida has other draws this time of year - NFL has to have a superior product to pull folks to the game (Miami is even worse).
Ive seen sellouts to games/seasons - and I’ve been to sold out playoff games. It’s also a time when folks can generate some cash after the holidays and still catch it from the comfort of their living room’s. I thought about buying tickets to thw game, but our defense didn’t look particularly strong against Daniels, and I decided to watch with some family members that didn’t want to go to the game.
My guess is that if there aren’t a lot of gung ho fans, it’s because the fan base doesn’t like something about the team. If you can’t sell out a playoff game - it may be time to make some changes to the team. I’m betting the owners will draw a similar conclusion.
For the locals: did this stop with Brady on the team?
It's because season ticket holders can pay for their tickets and then some by selling them. People want to come to Tampa Bay to take a quick vacation and go see their team when they probably can't afford the tickets to their own home games. Do you think Bucs fans want to go to Foxboro in the middle of winter to watch the Bucs? Heck no. We're fine right where we are in front of the TV. I'm not going to Philadelphia or Cleveland to watch a game. But if you live up north what a great opportunity for a quick getaway weekend to score some tickets online, get out of the snow and cold and go watch your team in the sunshine.
As an employee of a company that held 8 season tickets, I can tell you that in the old days, whoever went to the game was given as many tickets as were left - and that employee could either use, or sell, those tickets at the game…
Although I no longer work for that company, I would assume this scenario continues.
it’s not the fan with season tickets so much as it is the corporate groups that open up seats. I used to keep track of how many season tickets were sold and whether we sold those out - but it’s telling that so many visitors show up to cheer their home team on in a playoff game.
I’m a season ticket holder in west side club, and I was at the game. I’d say 80% of people sitting around me were NOT the regular ticket holders. Seems most sold their tickets because they can charge a premium for them. Money is green, and when you sell you don’t know if it’s to a Bucs fan or an opponent. This thread is pointless because you can’t stop this. People will do as they please with their tickets.
