Watched last bit of SF-Chi yesterday after our game finished. Chi was tied and got a great KR to set themselves up at SF 30 with 2 min left. I told my wife, John Fox is going to run 3 times in a row and attempt a long FG on a cold and windy Chicago day rather than trying to get a first down or two and score or at least set up chip shot FG. Sure enough that is what he did but his RB bailed him out with a great 3rd an 10 run which got them a first down and they promptly ran 3 more run plays and made no effort to score a TD and lo and behold they missed the 34 yard FG and went on to lose the game in OT. This is exactly how the game woudl have played out if Lovie was still there still stuck in his old ways.Lovie is starting to shed his play not to lose game strategy and I hope he pays attention to other games around the league and notices how the coaches who are winning aren't playing it super safe and being satisfied with long field goals, punting on 4th and 1's, etc. And the coaches stuck in the past are seeing their strategy backfire.
