Last year were 27th. Raheems teams schedules were 18th and 28th. SOS is hard to find end of year numbers so those may be slightly different but in that ball park.
Unfortunately under Schiano this team has looked completely unprepared and undisciplined. He is not doing what was expected of him....so I'm not sure why he is being brought back for a 3rd year or why so many fans want him back for a 3rd year.
Agree with you 100% here. Rutgers entire schtick is that he basically knows he's not that smart and he more or less admits that. His angle is that we do all the little things right, are prepared and don't beat ourselves and that sure as Hades isn't true. Really, that can work, I mean Norv Turner has been very success and he admits his offense has like 7 total running plays for example...but his "simple" works. The rationale for keeping him now has become: team hasn't quit and "consistency". Team not quitting is where the lowered expectations set by Rah help him out so much. Most teams don't lay down because players are competitive and want to win and will try really hard not to be losers. Jags are bad, not laying down. Bills are bad, not laying down. Browns, bad not laying down. Raiders, Rams, Vikes all bad not laying down. Heck the Texans aren't lying down when you look at their their last 7 straight losses since they got whacked by STL they have lost by a combined total of 29 points.Consistency is bogus. Consistency is why guys like Jack del Rio and Jim Haslett worked for so long being mediocre. The really, really great thing is that next year we have a good shot of being 8-8 just off the general regression to the mean that happens year over year. That will show "improvement" and he'll be back for a 4th year despite not having anything near an overall winning record. If he isn't fired this offseason, settle in for the long haul of Rutgers special brand of bland.
pretty much agree. The only accomplishments used to support his staying are weak at best. Havent quit, beat a few bad teams, ran some trick plays.......He needs to show more than being more disciplined than Raheem. Schiano has to win 2 out of the next 3 just to equal Raheems first 2 year win total. Schiano has had far more talent.its like theres suddenly a whole bunch of people willing to forget everything prior to these last 5 games. They ignore the fact that if Raheem was such a bad coach, why is Schiano not held to at the very least a slightly higher standard with a much more talent team?
Not a fair comparison. Freeman quit on the Bucs in the middle of 2012, and had a negative effect on the first half of this one. Raheem didn't have that issue until year 3.
so some players did quit on Schiano? Schianos only defense is still a few late wins against bad teams or his players havent quit(execpt for Freeman?). Its a completely fair comparison. Sciano has more talent and we cant even hold to Raheem standards because of Freeman? GTFO
probably a few Im missing but Schiano took over a much better team. also add in the Bucs currently are 17th in terms of strength of schedule.
Thru Dec 9, USA Today has the Bucs listed with the 3rd most difficult strength of schedule behind Chicago and Atlanta. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/nfl/sagarin/

the one I found on redzone didnbt have a dates as to when it was updated, so that would explain that. Still something to look at for both coaches when looking at their talent and W/L record. If anyone can fond the end of year ones for east year and at the end of raheems first 2 years that would be awesome. cant seem to find them, just did quick searches to and found ones late in those years, but nit at the end of those seasons.

Draft order tie breakers are based upon the previous year SOS, so you could probably find it there.
2012-2013 looks much better on paper but the sad fact remains that both squads were disappointments.
"probably a few Im missing but Schiano took over a much better team."If your argument is that he took over a much better team, why are you using this year's roster for comparison instead of using the roster he actually took over?
LOL at people trying to compare the two. Schiano >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Raheem.Schiano isn't a very good coach at all. But the worst to be said about the team under him is we are a professional team that loses a lot and can barely eke out a win against the worst teams out there.Raheem was a manchild, an immatrure azzclown with no idea how to comport himself as a mature adult let alone a professional leader. The team under him was a complete and utter joke, that not only couldn't win, but couldn't even be bothered to try. And his protege kept up the childish antics and screwed over his teammates and fans because his ego wasn't sufficiently stroked.

^^ What he said, except a lot nicer.

How many games do you think Schiano would have won if he had the roster that Raheem had and couldn't spend big $ in Free Agency? My guess would be 3 wins tops. It's one thing to think Schiano is a better coach, but it's definitely not out of the discussion to say Raheem was better, especially when you consider Raheem was at least able to have 1 winning season, when Schiano has yet to prove that he can (with a MUCH better roster).
Raheem was young and inexperienced, thrown into a bad situation with no budget for free agency. He failed. These are all facts. If you wanna call him an "azzclown" with no idea how to be professional though, then you are the one with problems. Rah was set up to fail and over achieved. Schiano was set up to succeed and has under achieved. Rah was better than Schiano is. He did more with less. Period. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-ZkU0sxCSU
Raheem went 10-6 with not much talent. He got the most out of his players. He won every single game he was supposed to win in 2010. Where has Schiano shown that kind of ability? Even with much greater talent? He hasn't. I truly think that Raheem could have had us in the playoffs with the talent on this team. He had NO talent at all in his final year here. Meanwhile, the front office has shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars under Schiano and what do we have to show for it? 0-8, 4-9?All that being said, I am sure the Glazers are going to retain him. They are the biggest idiots in the whole world.
Tallest midget?

How did Schiano start 6-4?
Poor attempt at deflection. Answer the question.
The question is asinine, and the answer irrelevant. Of course the roster needed an overhaul. Morris coached the youngest and cheapest team in the NFL for three seasons in a row. The Bucs roster has needed a makeover since 2008. Schiano was lucky enough to get one, in the way of millions upon millions of dollars in roster upgrades on both sides of the ball. He has taken those upgrades.............and is currently looking likely to lose more games in his first two seasons than that Raheem Morris guy you like to blame everything on did in his 1st two, without the benefit of a financially generous front office. Stop making excuses.
