I think Bortles is a franchise QB, but I have not seen every pass the other QB's have thrown. I want the Bucs to get the top QB on their board. If it is Bortles or Bridgewater go get them. If it is garoppollo trade back. They put 1000s of hours in on this, I hope they make the right call and don't come out with the second best.
I have the same feeling.... they should really trade back to the teens or 20s to pick up some extra picks before taking Garropolo
Trade with Miami at 19. They need Wr's and a OT. Get's in before the Cardinals at 20.they get nbr 7. We get 19, their 3rd, 4th and a 2015 2nd round pick.Get Garoppolo.
NO.If you have a guy you think is a franchise QB --which is what you have to think about a guy if you are drafting him early -- then you don't fuk around, you pull the trigger at 7. This isn't a safety or LB we're talking about. In other positions you can trade back and if the one guy you liked at that spot is gone, you can go with someone with a similar grade or just go to a different position. But not with QB. You either love a particular guy and you draft him or you don't draft one at all in the first round. You don't risk losing a franchise QB if he is on the board when you pick.
But I want more picks =(
lol... I want more picks too... 'Doc has a point though. Not that I agree 100% with it. But Licht strikes me as someone who goes and gets what he wants...There are at least 8 QB needy teams picking between 1 and 20.
Licht sounds like he won't try to fit square pegs into round holes at high expense... wouldn't be prudent.

Actually, the article doesn't really say anything at all about Licht. It talks a lot about the teams he was on and makes it sound like he made those moves himself. For all the author knows, Licht disagreed with every single move those teams ever made and has a completely different philosophy. Just a lot or reaching and guessing IMO.

That's how he was brought up.If it was me, I wouldn't want to Dominik my first pick as a GM...
Bump
Per the PC...MG's got a bright future in the NFL.MG will face competition for his job.JL already knows quite a bit about MG.JL likes what he sees on first glance.Non-committal as it should be.
"Well all the other teams I've been on haven't taken a QB early, so I won't either"Jesus guys. Really?
Now everyone really does expect a brady_like outcome. Jeesus..

xD Even worse"He was around when Brady was drafted so he's gonna know which late round prospect will pan out"No one knew Brady was going to be an all-pro. If they did, they wouldn't have risked letting him fall x)
I don't believe anyone knows what the new management team will do regarding Glennon. What I look at is who the people were that shaped him....Jimmy Johnson, Bill Belichek,, Andy Reid. JJ and BC have a history of trading down and getting more picks for the middle rounds and the next year. It would not surprise me at all to see them trade completely out of round 1 and stockpile mid round picks and bring in a lot of bodies this year....especially for the OLine and WR/TE positions.
I know they aren't sold on him yet. The "c" word was said.
I would not spend a 5-7th rounder on a QB. Statistically, it is an utter waste of a pick. Starters can be found at other positions in those rounds. I'd rather not waste it on an emergency QB that will never sniff the field and will more than likely be out of the league in a few years.
