Well, that's what some here expect. They expect 3rd round glennon to be the answer, or, they expect a low round qb to come from nothing and rework himself into a brady. The reality is that in rounds three to seven, the chances get even worse at finding an elite prospect at the qb position. Some wacky people actually believe going low like that means we're going to find our elite prospect. Smh.

20 of the 32 starters are R1 picks. Of course being an R1 pick doesn't mean you were good (Ponder, Eli this year) but those guys do get more shots. In the top 20, passer ratings covering this group: Foles, Manning, McCown, Rivers, Rodgers, Brees, Wilson, Romo, Roth, Kaep, Bradford, Ryan, Culter, Smith, Dalton, Newton, Brady, Luck, Stafford, Palmer (I think this about covers all the guy you might want leading your team once you get past them you get into the Glennon, Fitzgerald, Henne type guys.12 R1 picks and the rest are elsewhere (3 R2, 3 R3, 1 R6, 1 UDFA) - shocked to recall that McCown was an R3 pick at one point. It isn't a statistically insignificant situation to find a QB outside of R1 - and of the remaining 17 qualified passers 9 were R1 picks as well so your odds suckage are pretty good too especially considering that the next 2 piles of trash on the list are Freeman and Gabbert who are both R1 picks but just snuck under the qualifying attempts to be on the list.Your odds are clearly better of drafting a QB in R1 but to say because he was an R3 pick it is such a long shot for him to be a good passer is a bit hard to fathom.

I hope our personnel department has spent a lot of time trying to figure out the common thread for guys found after round 1.

Something I've said a lot of this board. I think a lot of people that dislike Glennon are caught up on the idea that a QB has to be a 1st round pick to be the franchise QB. Your statement right there gives some validity to what I've said many times.

All this BS about Lovie having final say over the roster is way overblown.Lovie knows his strengths and is smart enough to let Tedford run the offense. By the same token, if Licht and Tedford feel strongly about drafting a certain QB in the early rounds then I'm sure Lovie will trust their judgement and be open to it.He will not be running this organization like the dictator that Schiano was just to show who's boss.

No one believes that drafting Glennon at 13th overall would automatically make him more talented. Next strawman, please.

Actually I think there are a great many that would be wearing his jersey if he went #13.

I think Schiano would have had an actual angry mob carry him into the Atlantic.

3rd RD quarterback worked out well for Seattle UDFA Romo worked out decent for Dallas.Nick Foles wasn't a first rounderBest QB of all time was drafted in the 6th.Brees wasn't a first rounder either.Good to Great QBs can be found all threw the draft. There is just so few out there tho.
