Hey Guys... I decided to do some research this morning. It all began by noticing that the last 9 SB champs did not draft a RB with a top 10 pick. This seems to validate that no matter how good a RB may be, he is not worth a top 10 pick.

Anyway, someone then asked if the last 9 Super Bowl champs even had top 10 picks. Here's what I found out:

Number of Top 10 Picks by Last 9 SB Champs:

Saints - 2008,
Packers - 2009
Giants - 2016, 2015,
Ravens - 2016
Seahawks - 2009, 2010
Pats - 2008
Denver - 2011
Pats - 2008, 2016
Eagles - 2013

Also, we will all notice that with the exception of the Giants, all of these teams not only won SB's, but are also consistently in the hunt. Meanwhile, look at where top 10 RB's have been drafted:

2007 - Vikings
2008 - Raiders
2009 - none
2010 - Bills
2011 - none
2012 - Browns
2013 - none
2014 - none
2015 - Rams (at #10)
2016 - Cowboys
2017 - Jags, Panthers

OK... so my conclusions are:

1). Even though the best teams in the league sometimes have 10 ten picks, they do not draft RB's there.

2). Because of the recent resurgence of the RB, teams have begun drafting them higher and higher the last couple of years.

3). Some of the better teams also drafted RB's the last several years, but they did not do so with top ten picks.

4). The BUCS should not draft a RB with our 7th pick, even if Barkley is there.
