?@TonyPauline 8mTwo well connected west coast sources tell me they fully expect Brett Hundley/QB/UCLA to enter the 2014 NFL Draft....Now I think he should stay in school, but I would be fine with taking him in the second and grooming/coaching him up for a year or two behind Glennon and then handing him the reigns. He isn't a first rounder by any means.
Hundley will go Top 10. Him coming out helps our chances of landing a great player. May be able to stay pat and get Clowney.
You're going to be in a total shock in a couple of months. He will be talked upon as a top 10 pick after Bridgewater.Unless Hundley bombs the interviews I don't think he will make it past Oakland on draft day.
He will go way too high. I want nothing to do with him at #7 (assuming he even lasts that long) and won't be there in the second.

Yeah, that'll mean Matthews was picked by ATL instead. To be honest though under Lovie this will probably be our closest to getting a QB in the first round. The Bears rarely picked high so I could see us making a trade to get one of those QB's. Although I'd rather wait to see if Glennon is the guy...just don't think we'll be in position for Jameis Winston or Mariota in 2015.
I like the idea...Strengths: Looks the part with a tall, well-built frame and has the arm to unleash passes all over the field. Easy throwing motion with a strong, accurate arm. Noel Mazzone's offense asks him to make aggressive downfield throws and his quarterback showed the courage to attempt these passes even with defenders in close proximity to his targets. He has a quick set-up and release, consistently places the ball so that his receivers can run after the catch and possesses the velocity and touch to make any throw.Even more impressive than Hundley's elusiveness and acceleration, however, is his vision and poise while buying time in the pocket. Hundley feels pressure well and is willing to step up and re-set while keeping his passing options open, critical for long-term success in the NFL. Weaknesses: Right now, Hundley's ball placement is a work-in-progress and he needs to improve his pocket awareness to feel the rush and quicken his reads to find a target. Like most young quarterbacks, he needs to develop his anticipation as a passer and show better rhythm with his weapons, but he has the qualities that can't be coached. Good, but not great straight-line speed in the mold of elite dual-threat QBs.

The truth of the matter is that is a very valid statement given his skills and all that. Some team will gush over it. He still needs a fair amount of coaching before I would take him in the top 10, unless he really improves before draft day. I'd take him in the second if he was there.

Two years of Glennon and we'll have another all-new coaching staff
Hundley may be coming out.
Not that there's anything wrong with that
Thank you Bradentonian, I'm glad somebody else caught that.

Not my best word choice.
can you say trade bait?

I'm wary of Hundley too. I just don't think he's a big of a risk though that your making him to be. He's got at least 2 years of starting experience(the good ones usually have 3) so he's shown that he can ball consistently. His mechanics breakdown under duress like most young QB's do but its very coachable. The guy is a 66% completion guy his whole career. He's the type that would benefit sitting and then playing the following year for sure. Have him sit while we see what Glennon has would be my choice but again I don't think it'll come to fruition.

ATL has to fix that OL more than they need to fix DE. They have no one to block for that 'franchise' QB.
Draft him and play Glennon while Tedford coaches him up for a year? Trade Glennon next offseason?
