Since we are very very young and we have major holes that will not be filled with free agents why not ?
Licht and Company have been able to draft some very good players outside of the top 8 picks. And they have made some good FA acquisitions. Personally I'd rather the team have successful seasons and continue to improve the team along the way. Just my $0.02.
Earliest tank post ever?
After a 17 point win to boot lol
All teams have major holes. The difference is the Bucs have a young nucleus to keep building team with moving forward.
@badabingbucs We beat the Commanders , they have nobody in the secondary . You will see different when we play the Lions . I want to eat crow !
Trading up from #32 into the Top-8 is going to cost a fortune.
Not worth it.
Tanking after a 17 point win in game one?
I think not.
Don't mistake this team for a rebuilding team. They are young, but the key guys are in their prime and are getting big money. Evans, Winfield, Wirfs, Godwin, Mayfield, Vea, Dean, David, McGlaughlin and Whitehead. That's where the money is going, and they didn't pay these guys to lose games. There are only X amount of high level production years you can get from star players, and that X is a variable not a constant. Don't take it for granted that they'll be around a long time. You can't say when a player's performance is going to fall off due to slowing down or injury. We've been lucky with some players like Evans and David, but it doesn't always go according to plan.

we are 7 point underdogs on the road. We are not expected to win this week.
im holding out hope but a loss this week does not spell tank. 1-1 is what we all expected through 2 weeks.
to me beating the commanders which was a 4 point spread, and some pundits picking commanders to win in to boot! and we were up 24 until late garbage TD; very impressive
mind boggling you think otherwise.
I put our chances at about 30%.
we have to score methodically, and hope we can win a shootout, because our defense isn’t going to stop their run game - and our secondary won’t worry Goff- he moved downfield at will when we were at full strength, whenever needed in that playoff game.
that’s exactly how they’re going to play us this game - keep our offense off the field, take his team in long scoring drives and let that defense get some stops in the process.
I hope that’s not how it goes, but then again I didn’t circle this one as automatic grudge-match win anyway.
if our defense would have been full strength, I think it could have given our offense a chance to win this game. Now? Showing better offensive output will be all I’m looking for til we get folks back from injuries.

Agreed that a Loss to Detroit isn’t the worst thing in the world. The only caveat is it can’t be a bad loss. They need to be competitive against top competition if they want to be considered a Super Bowl contender.
If we pick top 8 it'll be because the pass rush sucks and the secondary mainly our corners were liabilities.
I took the Bucs and gave 4 vs Washington. If it weren't for all the injuries the Bucs have, I'd have taken the 7 and the Bucs, but I'm taking Detroit and giving the 7. I think it's going to get real ugly on Sunday. If the Bucs were somehow to win the game, I'd gladly lose the $$$.
