haha read the rest of the post.
I did. Way to hedge your bet, bud.
Still a hypocritical take, but at least you found humor in it getting called out.
Daniels with 2 playoff wins his rookie year, shit, how old Herbert going to be to accomplish that?
Who knows?
Stafford was 33 before he did it.
And, unlike Baker, Goff, Daniels, or Love; he has a ring and will be in Canton.
So, again, who knows?
I wouldn't be surprised to see a sophomore slump.
I agree. I have a Washington homer in my office and I have a Benjamin bet saying Daniels' stats this year won't be as good as last year.
then there's 5 through 14 which can be interchangeable. So many people have recency bias so they inflate guys like Hurts and Daniels given last year and kick guys like Prescott and Purdy to the curb
5 through 14 in no order - Stafford, Daniels, Hurts, Baker, Goff, Herbert, Stroud, Purdy, Prescott, Love
anyone of those 5 through 14 can jump to 5 depending on how this year plays out
Mostly agree with this but I think there's a couple talent wise that are 5-8

Agreed.
i'd probalby have Daniels at 5 given last year
Oh…nevermind.
haha read the rest of the post. said he could drop out of the top 10. i think it's very unlikely for Washington to repeat their success.

This is the same argument of Bron... He take a shit team to the finals and loses and everyone goes "look at his finals record".
Herbert has had absolutely dog shit teams around him which have been compounded by having one of the worst head coaches ever in Staley... For example does anyone here think Chargers losing to the Jags was a function of Herbert? Or did the shit (defensive) head coach call a dogshit 2nd half, playing to not lose?
You don't blow leads like that without an incompetent head coach who consistently shit the bed in close games.
Wins are not a QB stat. Daniels beat Tampa but it's not like he was that impressive even against Bowles soft defense. Then he got the Lions fully depleted. Then he struggled vs the Eagles.
Daniels isn't better than Herbert but recency bias tells us otherwise. Time will again tell

I’m not sure “recency bias” is the best term. This wasn’t Brock Purdy being Mr. Irrelevant for a stacked team and playing very well. I mean, Daniels came into the league as the Heisman winning QB that was drafted #2 overall to a pretty shitty team. He went on to win two playoff games for that shitty team while also winning ORoY (so did Herbert) and named to the Pro Bowl (Herbert did not) as a rookie. That’s pretty impressive for any QB, but very rare for a rookie QB.
My point is, he was an acclaimed QB prospect that lived up to and exceeded expectations as a rookie while winning two playoff games - very differently - with a team that went 4-13 the previous season. Whatever your opinion is on the Herbert v Daniels debate, I think you can admit that’s pretty rare.

I donno, Herbert chocked alot in college and hes chocked alot in the NFL. I expect Daniels to have a slump this season, like you guys mentioned, bc if he doesnt he will be on pace for one incredible career. Daniels played incredible the 2nd half of last year, im not sure thats sustainable.
All that being said id take Daniels over Herbert 10 our of 10 times. Im just not sold on Herbert like the media is, in crunch time he struggles.
if you want pretty regular season numbers followed by terrible playoff performances, take Herberts.
If you want consistently better playoff performances over regular season numbers, and a proven SB winner, take Stafford.
Herbert chocked alot in college and hes chocked alot in the NFL
at least last season Daniels was the opposite of this
both points of view here can be true. He can have a lessser season this season and still be on his way to a great career (if he avoids injury)
